Ryan Wintle says Erol Bulut wants his Bluebirds midfielders to control the game more and is asking them to be more creative.
One criticism levelled at Cardiff's midfield in recent times is that it's either too one-dimensional in the way it functions or has been completely bypassed with route-one tactics under different managers.
However, Wintle, who was evidently more creative against Porto than he perhaps has been in recent months, is looking forward to taking on the new role under Bulut.
RYAN WINTLE:
"We look a threat and we've got a style of play now where we have wingers who have a lot of pace and very good at one on one situations," he said.
"[Erol Bulut] is asking a lot of themidfielders to run the game. So it's a challenge I've never had, I've never worked under a foreign manager before and I'm enjoying it so far.
"He wants me to be more creative, which I'm going to try and be, play balls in behind so our attackers can get on to it. Hopefully I do and they can put it away.
"Everyone has enjoyed the week (in Portugal). The football has been good, the training has been good and we are more together as a unit, as a team. The new lads have settled down brilliantly, so hopefully we can have a successful season."
