“ Its a proper football club, with real fans “

Bluebirds legend Sean Morrison is raring to go again after his maiden campaign with Rotherham United was cut short due to injury.

Morrison, 32, signed for the Millers earlier this year and was man of the match against Blackburn Rovers in his first game. However, after the next match, against Watford, it was announced he was out for the season with a thigh injury.

He has signed a one-year contract with Rotherham, though, and is keen to put his stamp on things.

SEAN MORRISON:

"Rotherham is a proper football club, I love it, honestly," Morrison told the Yorkshire Evening Post. "Whenever I spoke to my mates about it in the summer and they asked me what I was going to do, I was beaming when I was talking about it.

"It's a real football club with real fans, real people and the people you speak to outside are fantastic.

"Nothing will come easy, especially in this league but the manager is a fighter and his staff are all fighters and he wants his team to fight."

Clearly, uprooting and leaving Cardiff behind after nine years will be a tough transition for Morrison and his wife, Stacey, but with a number of ex-Bluebirds now up in Yorkshire and nearby counties, they will be in good company.

"We had been so settled in Cardiff and as a pairing, we don't know anything different. (But) This year, living up here, we've got lots of friends, we are so lucky," Morrison added.

"A couple of our friends play for Sheffield Wednesday, Derby and Sheffield United. We have people in and around that make it easier for her to settle in.

"[My wife] also knows Pelts' missus (Lee Peltier) really well. And Dillon Phillips, we know his partner. When you have been in football this long, you know everyone."
