Central midfielder Eli King has linked up with League 2 Morecambe for the 2023/24 season.
The City Academy graduate is set for his second spell in League Two, having spent half of the last campaign with Crewe Alexandra. King has made seven First Team appearances for the Bluebirds to date and signed a new three-year contract with the Club earlier this summer.
We'd like to wish Eli all the very best while on loan with the Shrimps.

Eli King has joined The Shrimps on a season-long loan from Cardiff City FC.
An attacking midfielder, King has made appearances for Cardiff in the SkyBet Championship and joins Derek Adams’ side to gain more experience as he continues his development.
20-year-old Eli spent the first half of last season on-loan at Crewe Alexandra where he made 18 appearances before returning to The Bluebirds in January.
King has also represented Wales at youth levels, most recently with the Welsh U21 side.
Manager Derek Adams said on signing Eli, “We are excited to have Eli in the building. He is a very highly regarded young talent that we feel we can help to develop but at the same time can play a part for us this season.”

League 2 once again - after Crewe. I hoped Eli would get a League 1 loan this time to improve him, he is twenty one years old soon.

Weird really as they said the reason they were sending our players to Welsh League clubs because they nearer you keep an eye on them

and problems with registering them
Yet King has gone all the way to Morecambe
Personally I think if King was as great as some keep saying why did not League 1 clubs come in for him?

Wrong.
What they've said is the first loan to toughen them up in men's football. WPL or NL.
Then if they prove themselves. Hopefully an EFL loan. I say hopefully, because as many people of here keep bleating "they need to go to a league 1 club" the clubs have to actually want them.
Reference the clubs plan...
