That says it all, our academy teams shouldn't be losing teams like that - pre season game or not.

I'm shocked that Purse is still in a job after last season. He needs to get it right this season or simply has to go.

Fact is none of these players are anywhere near ready for the Championship.

Two that came through the academy, King and Tom Davies, have been loaned out this week. That shows what a proper manager in Bulut thinks about them.

Rubin Colwill is the best player that's come through the academy and he's struggled to make the first team squad the last couple of years. Speaks volumes.

The only other player to come through the academy that was with the first team regularly was Mark Harris and he's rightly been moved on to a League One club permanently.

Big big improvements needed in the coaching in the academy this season but results like that don't fill me with confidence.

It looks like the first team squad us finally being sorted out with the right manager. Now they need to do the same with the academy.

They didn't just lose - they didn't even score

Despite our professional status our attacking profile appears less than welsh league

Still seems like we couldn't score in a brothel no matter which team we have out there.

True. This is the problem. There is a huge gap between under 21 and championship football.

Back in the day, when Sam looked after the academy, he played 14 year olds in the under 16 and 16 year olds in the under 18s. It built the up and several made it to the first team.

Our junior teams need a total overhaul

Ned,

We can’t score v Pontypridd??

We lose at home.

Full time U21’s

These are suppose to be our future Championship player’s??

Honestly it’s becoming embarrassing

Yes we have lost about 3 in the last 12 years.

But we are taking about a professional outfit v Pontypridd, Surely they are better than them if our 21’s are to progress???

We keep hearing about our great talent???
