‘ Kieffer Moore / The problem ‘

Sat Jul 29, 2023 8:36 am

The problem is The Transfer Embargo and that is continually hurting us.

Bournemouth paid Cardiff City £4.5mill.

Kieffer Moore has told the media he would love to return to Cardiff City.

Moore wants to come to City, The CCFC Board need to sort out the mess they have created.

Cardiff City want him and know they will struggle nice again without a quality Striker.

Cardiff City need him big time.

Bournemouth want money and rightly so, a loan they lose out on.

If No one else is prepared to buy Moore or pay his wages in full if sent on loan, then that’s the only way I see City getting Moore or any other Quality Striker.

On that basis, I can't see this happening unfortunately, let's just hope we get someone else in or they thrash out a deal before Leeds on Sunday,

Annis: I am not sure how you can say that in this instance that "the board need to sort the mess they have created". Whilst I would totally agree with your view on Vincent Tan overall, in this instance they are trying to get the best possible solution and throughout the Summer there has been a positive stance from the club.

It's are own fault and I cant see Moore returning without some kind of fee. This is what an embargo is designed to do, it prevents us from really challenging for promotion. We need to accept it and move on to secure a central midfielder and centre half soon. We have decent attacking options. All I am hoping for is to stay out of trouble this season. Dreams of a promotion push are a bit far fetched.

Hasn't he got two years left on his contract?

If so, a loan for 6 months without fee won't hurt his value. In fact it may increase it if he does well.

Just pay a fair chunk of his wages and AFCB will benefit.

I’m not adverse to him coming but I’m not convinced City are looking to bring him here.

Have you got a link to where City have stated this?

Or even a quote from Moore saying he wants to come here?

Unfortunately we have an embargo. I'd be pissed if other clubs weren't punished in a similar way to us. It's our own doing and if we miss out on players, unfortunate as it is, tough!

Just hope there's consistency with other clubs when they break the rules.

As much as I want KM back. It's a waiting game.

Bournemouth only want to sell him not a loan, so it's definitely no from us.

Surely they could do a season long loan with a condition to buy in the summer transfer window.

Why can't we loan him until Jan with the clause of....if he does well we buy him then?

There seems to be an opinion that we cannot write into any contract that we will commit to buy at a future date as this sort of breaks our current embargo.

Does anyone know how long is left on his contract? If it is 2 years then a 6 month loan won't heavily affect his January price tag.

But can see that AFCB would rather sell now. Therefore not coming here.

I'm not even sure we are looking at him. Just seems to be net chatter.

Pay his full wages, plus I think they still owe us £1m according to some reports! Which is about how much they will get if they sell him .

Strange how the monies to pay the last instalments of the Sala fee arrived in plenty of time to be paid to Nantes whereas the first instalment took so long to arrive that we missed the deadline for payment hence leading to the current embargo.

All speculation of course but I wonder whether the club were not intending to make any payments at all until they found out what punishments they could face or whether somebody at the club forgot to put in their diary the date by which the first payment was due.

Either way this unfortunate shambles seems to be holding the club back at a time when the side clearly needs strengthening but as others have said the club only have themselves to blame.

Where is this public statement from Moore that he wants to come back?
This has always been pure speculation and rumour and it will not happen.
Nearly as laughable as the Barkley made up story.

People, not just you, bleat on about "where is this public statement?" as if any player prepared to move will stand on a lecturn and give a Churchillian speech about how badly they want to leave the club paying their wages and go to pastures new...

It simply doesn't make sense on so many levels; but there are ways a player can 'let it be known' he would be open to a move to any given club...

A good (current) example of this is Harry Kane, who has said nothing 'publicly', yet Bayern Munich are confident enough to make bids and even obtain meetings with the tough operator that is Daniel Levy...

It also makes me chuckle when some people think anyone on here is going to reveal their sources...

Watch this space on Moore; despite not particularly wanting him back, I am increasingly convinced 'something' is happening behind the scenes and getting him back is not as ridiculous as some appear to want to believe.. :ayatollah:

If city wants him they can get the deal over the line there’s always a deal that can be done, loan him until the embargo ends pay is wages, Bournemouth are a premier league club who can wait for the money , every club normally pays in stages . Hope I’m wrong but I think we’re being strung along .

In fairness the OP does say,

Kieffer Moore has told the media he would love to return to Cardiff City.

Easy to assume there is some sort of record of this within the public domain.

We do need "Firepower" this season. Moore would definitely add much needed goals! We all know how poor last season was. Fingers crossed we can get him in on loan.

I’m happy he’s on the bench as it means he’s getting game time and his fitness level will be high.

There is “no problem”!

Constant OP’s on here starting with the line about how Moore has made it public or to the media that he wants to come back. It’s not bleating to challenge where the proof of this is. Or I suspect as usual it’s just about click bait.

Yes, I agree; and being honest, I can see the value of having Keiffer back at the club... :ayatollah:

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola, who has Dominic Solanke as first choice centre-forward, responded when asked about Cardiff's interest in bringing Moore back on a season's loan: “I think probably it's not the area where we prioritise.

“We have other needs before the number nine area, let's say. But we cannot guarantee anything because there is a lot of time, there is a lot of days remaining in the market.

“But I'm happy with his performance, how he's training.”
