Judge after ten games not now.

Sun Jul 30, 2023 11:20 am

Too much negativity based on yesterday.

Warnock’s promotion team didn’t pull up trees preseason then won the first five.

Ten games is when we should judge.

Transfer window closing is when we should judge the transfer dealings. So far it’s pretty much universal we have had a good transfer window in very difficult circumstances.

We aren’t know for it but patience is needed.

Well said. Although I do think the majority share your message.

New manager, new signings, new season. Let's go! Bluebirds!

I think most fans understand buy are worried with our lack of goals continuing from last season and with moore not through the door and the season only a week away
It mirrors our start last season without a top striker inplace to start the season .

It's not negativity so much as a genuine concern. We seem to create chances but lack the strikers to put them away. It's a worry that we're no better than last season despite all the hype.

I agree but....

Zero goals in three games smells like last year.

Maybe we put five past Leeds :-)

I judge after 12 games.

No one has been negative about Erol,

Just saying exactly what he says, more players needed and a striker

Exactly, you only need to think back to our signing of Hugill and Ikpeazu (?) to see how quickly our fortunes can change once you get the right players in place. The manager is less worried than the fans because presumably he knows there are players on their way here (hopefully) who will rectify our current scoring problem.

Exactly that’s how it looks at this moment.

Quite a few are taking good odds on us getting promoted on a thread on here. We did not have Ugbo, Grant and Meitie last yearand they have only had a sparse pr season plus we also have Robinson. Goustas for me is world class and better than Harry Maguire. I would rather see everyone taking shots scoring goals rather than rely on one lone striker. Moore was at Wigan when they got relegated. Ramsey is looking at his best again. It will be nice to start the season in no danger of relegation, Forest started in the bottom three but got promoted so smile for a while, lets be jolly.

Wez on the strong whisky again haha.

I agree with judging after ten games but not when it comes to a glaringly obvious thing we’re weak at. We’ve every right to be concerned because we still aren’t scoring goals. I really hope we can get a striker in, bed them in quickly and start scoring.

If we don’t it’s going to be a long old relegation battle again.

We’re like a boxer that dances around his opponent for 11 rounds and then gets sparked in the first minute of the 12th.

Is Goustas ours or a loan?

He signed a 2 year deal.

Gonna throw this out there. Right now I think we are comfortably mid table. Don’t think we will have the same problems as last year.

With 2 more first team signings I think we are top
8 with the first 11 but won’t take much with injuries to knock us back

I hope you’re right, but we just don’t look dangerous at all when we get in and around the penalty area. It’s a worry.

We don’t. But would you rather look blunt with watters Harris and ojo as the main starting 3
(On account that philogene and etete hadn’t really broken through)

Or rusty with the forwards we now have and Ramsey backing up?
I am optimistic that as they gel and work patterns I. Training they have far more ability and quality at our level than guys that are now league 1. Our left flank particularly looks dangerous.

What if we play 4 at the back and 6 up front and leave out the midfield?

He scored a couple for us too too. But one swallow doesn’t make a summer or a good video :-D

Tan and Dalman have pulled out all the stops to bring in the players Bulut wanted, he told Tan when he got the job he would get promotion. After ten games we need to be challenging so he has a very simple task if he wants to keep his job. I am happy to give him ten games and with the squad we have I am confident we will do much better than many think.

We've lost Kipre and Kaba and replaced them with inferior players.

We stayed up last year thanks to the other team's points deductions, and Kaba grabbing some good goals.

The league looks much stronger this year, so unless anything changes drastically, I think we will be worried after ten games too.

Of course it cold change with three signings, but will we get them?

Re: Judge after ten games not now.

The preseason results or performance never bother me, it's about fitness, sharpness, set plays, routines etc and not the result. My fundamental concern though is that Kaba and Kipre have not been replaced with at least like for like and we will yet again have the same root problem as last season and not scoring goals at the few critical points when we should be converting.

The world and his wife know this though and I'm sure that Bulut is doing everything possible to address this otherwise it will be groundhog day yet again.

Goutas inferior to kipre? Different, but think it’s too early to say inferior. He’s looked a real find so far. We haven’t replaced kaba yet to be fair but we have massively boosted the attacking options compared to last season.

I think he is, I saw a few mistakes against the Portuguese teams, and the weaker teams in the pre season friendlies, but I may be judging him harshly, time will tell. Kaba is a massive loss, even with his goals we were poor, without them what have we got in a stronger League?

We need Moore, and a lot more!
