Ralls: Having Rambo gives us all a massive lift
Aaron Ramsey provides the players with as much of a lift as the fans, Cardiff captain Joe Ralls has said.
Ramsey returning is the story of the summer as far as Cardiff are concerned, with the prodigal son returning home after 15 years plying his trade in the top flights in England, Italy, Scotland and France.
But he is set to make a big impact for his boyhood club this season and City skipper Ralls hopes his addition can help spark the club back into life after two years of hard struggle.
"He's quality. It's great to have someone who has played at the highest level come through the door," Ralls said of Ramsey to the BBC.
"The story itself is great for the fans and great for the club – it gives everyone a massive lift going into the new season.
"All the club, all the fans are looking forward to the new season. Getting Aaron back gives everyone a massive lift, players as well. It's an exciting time. It's great to have him back.
"We've got a massive gap (to bridge), let's not beat around the bush. We have had some underwhelming seasons and we've got some ground to make up.
"Signing some of the players we have this season will hopefully kick us on and start creeping us back up to where we want to be, right at the top of the Championship.
"I'm sure the introduction of Aaron and other players will help us and we are looking to improve the squad as well."
