Don't agree, think there's at least four better wingers at the club than O'Dowda. He should have a decent season at LB though, competing with Collins.

Wintle would be a defensive midfielder sitting in front of the back 4, with Rambo, Bowler and O’Dowda the midfield.
O’Dowda is one of the very few attacking threats we have, so I question putting him in defence and miles away from the opposition goal. Collins is also a better defender.
You could have played Robinson or Grant out wide with just the 1 up top, but for me, Robinson plays better with someone to play off.

For a start, it's obvious we'll be playing 4-2-3-1.

The way that team looks, if they had a counter attack then only Wintle would stand in their way in front of the defence. They'd score five or six goals.

O'Dowda will play as a LB. Last season when people wanted him on the wing was different because we didn't have better options, but we do now. Like I said, at least four better wingers now.

Goals and assists over the last three seasons:

Grant - 22 goals, 6 assists

Robinson - 12 goals, 15 assists

Bowler - 11 goals, 5 assists

Meite - 4 goals, 3 assists

O'Dowda - 5 goals, 4 assists


So of those four, O'Dowda only has more goal involvements than Meite (by 2) - who didn't play many games the season before last because of injuries.

He will be a LB.



Collins is still coming back from a big injury. I don't think he's ready to start Championship games for a few weeks yet. When he is, him and O'Dowda will compete for that position.

I would play 4 at the back and 6 forward as we never have a midfield when a counter attack happens, we have a corner they win the ball then they are outside our penalty area. We have 4 defenders and a goalie they should be able to deal with it. Having 6 up front give them plenty to worry about.

For what it’s worth I think it’s too soon for Bowler to come straight in. What I think he’ll probably go with is:

Training and pre-season is all about learning the formation and tactics the Gaffer wants to play and I can assure you it won't be that one otherwise we'd have seen it before now.

Personally think rhino had a shocking preseason, sloppy in possession and gave the ball away too often.
Always thought last season his best games were as a sub too

I'm hooeful of a decent start but the season doesn't end after a few games...
