Aston Villa make key Jaden Philogene decision

Jaden Philogene is now set to stay at Aston Villa following an impressive pre-season with Unai Emery’s side.

The winger started in all four of Villa’s friendlies against Walsall, Newcastle United, Fulham and Brentford.

Philogene even scored in the 2-0 win over Fulham, and Emery has now told the 21-year-old that he will be a part of the club’s immediate plans next season.

He had earned both temporary and permanent interest from the Championship and sides on the continent after a productive loan spell with Cardiff last term.

Philogene caught the eye during his time in the Welsh capital and scored five times across all competitions, winning the Bluebirds’ Young Player of the Year award in the process.

That could be good for us.

If he's not a first team regular by January we could sign him or take him on loan - with a fee!

First thing I thought was when we signed Bowler it meant Philogene wasn't coming back.
