This was done due to Derby's financial problems and to help prevent the English club from filing for bankruptcy!

Definitely something strange going on here.
No club in a sane mind would waive a transfer fee. Surely UEFA and FIFA will be looking at this.

So that means Derby gained a further advantage by benefiting from a player they didn't have to pay for.
That was the reason we were put on an embargo for "benefiting" (sic) from the ES signing without paying.
