Is it bizarre or just a way of doing things? We don't know yet if this window will be any better than the one last season when we did spend some money but other clubs have been good at the bargain basement shopping for quite a while and maybe we have finally caught on.

If bargain basement shopping gives us a 1st half like that then carry on, absolutely carry on.
