Where have you heard that? He’s far too good for this league.

I'd also like to know where this has come from. Absolutely no mention of this whatsoever online. If Ox was to drop down to the championship, then it would be at one of the relegated clubs. Leicester, Leeds or Southampton.

nobody has told me its him im going on what was said they guy who has called the last 3 signings plus the manager has said the player we are really trying to get would walk straight into our starting 11 so i was looking at what free agents would walk into this side and the two i came up with was chamberlain and barkley so thought id put my idea across

No chance.

Two signings before Wednesday though, will be interesting who they are.

He’s flown for talks with Besiktas in Turkey, it’s not him.

Unless Besiktas buy him then loan him to us for 12 months with a pre-agreed purchase price next summer - giving Besiktas a profit and allowing us to get around the ban

You can laugh; but Mehmet Dalman indicated some weeks ago that a 'big name would surprise us...

We all assumed it was Aaron Ramsey, yet the talk persistd amongst some very knowledgeable people connected to the club...

No one knows 'who' but it is not unthinkable it might be 'The Ox' but equally it could (as unlilely as it sounds) be as mad as a Gareth Bale...no one knows!

Never count anything in or out at our club; too many experiences of them springing a surprise... :ayatollah:

Sven- the reason I’m laughing is can you actually see us being able to pay the wages he’d ask for? Surely clubs at the lower end of prem or top championship clubs would offer him what he wants.

I really don't know other than we are chasing another 'star' player and 'The Ox' was mentioned as a possibility due to his apparent friendship with Aaron Ramsey...

He's coming back from injury, so may come to prove a point...? :ayatollah:

I really hope you are right, I would love to come back to this thread after the window closes with a message directed at me saying ‘I told you so’ :bluescarf:

I’m hearing Tom Davies, that’s much more realistic in my opinion and would be an excellent signing.

Tom Davies would be brilliant.

Good on the ball and not afraid of a tackle.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is involved in a three-way battle for his signature.

Former Liverpool midfielder Oxlade-Chamberlain, 29, is a free agent after his contract at Anfield expired at the end of the season.
Oxlade-Chamberlain is the latest player to be targeted by the Saudi Pro League and the England international would be a major coup because he has played at the highest level, enjoyed great success and has a high-profile.

Brentford are also keen and would be ready to give him a one-year deal with the selling point that they gave Christian Eriksen the platform to play and get back to his best.

Turkish club Besiktas are also chasing him and want to make the ex-Arsenal star their highest-paid player as they have made a concerted effort to get him.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is now weighing up his options before making a decision on the next step in his career.

The Saudis have made huge investments into Premier League stars as they have already signed Ruben Neves, Kalidou Koulibaly and N’Golo Kante from the English top flight while Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema have also moved to the Gulf.

Norms, that would be a good move; my only point on The Ox was that Mehmet made a comment and some came up with his name. We should never discount anyone at our club; it's as crazy as us supporters...! :ayatollah:

Could be a possibility as according to the Sun, ;) TOM DAVIES has been training with Bristol Rovers after leaving Everton at the end of last season.

The midfielder, who became the youngest captain in Toffees' history aged just 20 in 2018, opted to turn down a new deal at Goodison Park. Davies, 25, joined Everton aged 11 and went on to make 179 appearances for his boyhood club.

But after being limited to just four Premier League starts last season, he decided to depart in a bid to secure more first team football.

Having not signed for a club yet, Davies joined up with Bristol Rovers as they trained in the Algarve last week.

The former England youth international was welcomed into the camp by boss Joey Barton, himself a former Everton academy player, to gain fitness in a competitive environment.
According to Bristol Live, no talks have taken place regarding Davies signing for the League One side.

If Davies is to drop down from the Premier League, he would likely receive offers from the Championship.
He was also the subject of interest from Scottish giants Rangers in January, with their boss Michael Beale having previously admitted his admiration for the combative midfielder.
