One of the main takeaways from City's season opener was just how much of a threat Josh Bowler looked. There was rightly excitement when he signed and he showed just why that was the case.

Just as Jaden Philogene did last season, whenever Bowler took the ball there was an edge-of-the-seat feeling surrounding what he would do next. Callum O'Dowda summed it up perfectly before the match when he said he was the sort of player who you knew what he was going to do - you just couldn't stop it.
His manipulation and control of the ball was masterful, but he also made clever runs in behind, particularly in the first half when City weren't penned in as much as they were after the break.
Cardiff have really bolstered their wing and No.10 options, but Bowler looks like he is the man with the shirt and the likes of Callum Robinson, Karlan Grant, Sheyi Ojo, Rubin Colwill and Yakou Meite will have to battle to get it off him. Grant was quiet at Leeds, but he has more than enough quality to come good.
Erol Bulut believes there is still more to come from Bowler. He has been at the club less than a week, lest we forget.
Could prove to be a very, very important signing, Bowler.
