Bbc are usually delayed. That's probably news from last week.

Cardiff City have been priced out of a move for former Everton midfielder Tom Davies.
The 25-year-old is available on a free transfer after turning down a new deal at the Premier League club, where he had been since the age of 11.
Cardiff looked into signing Davies but any deal looks unlikely as they cannot afford his wages.
Manager Erol Bulut wants to make "two or three" more signings before the transfer window shuts on 1 September.
Cardiff are still hopeful of adding a holding midfielder to the squad, with Wales captain Aaron Ramsey playing further forward in the number 10 position.
Cardiff would still like to bring Ramsey's Wales team-mate Kieffer Moore back to south Wales, but they are not hopeful at this stage because Bournemouth want a fee for the striker.
The Bluebirds are only able to sign Moore on loan due to a transfer embargo, which means they cannot pay a fee for a player and are limited to loans or free agents.
This sanction will be lifted in January 2024.

Disappointed with this, would have been a good signing but obviously we have to stick to the wage budget.
BBC Sport Wales are normally right with their reporting on City.

Initially yes, but as you say, glad we’re sticking to a budget.

Never rated Tom Davies. Not much skill just a water carrier.

A bit gutting but we move on.
I would rather a player come here because they want to over someone who would just come if the wages are right.

There is a website called spotrac which details the salaries of sporting figures
https://www.spotrac.com/epl/everton-fc/ ... ies-22778/It is suggested that Tom Davies is earning £1.3m per year or £25k per week.
Now this is the thing if we were prepared to pay £2m for Kaba (plus his wages) then surely we could fit £25k per week (£1.3m) into the budget.
I would assume we were looking to offer salaries of £15-20k per week so if we offloaded one or two players we could raise the extra £5k easily
Ramsey was prepared to sacrifice a huge salary to come here. Could we not sacrifice a little extra salary to give supporters a season to remember

He's been a free agent for a while and hasn't signed for anyone else.

Greedy sod; forget him and move on!

Never want any player that does'nt want to play for us
but would come for the money
which would rule us out anyway.
We want players with
kabu's enthusiasm when he joined trying to get the crowd going and wanted to be apart of the team and to connect with the fans just like warnock also.

Mr Davies you are not as good as you think you are. If any club pay what you want then they have more money than sense.
Tue Aug 08, 2023 11:26 pm
Tom Davies was given his 1st contract at Everton 2015-2019 and then a 4 year contract / extension .
Mixed reports on what he was on £25,000 a week on the later years at Everton - looks like he was asking for more with us .

What’s all this about ?
His name came up as he’s not under contract? So did many, many others the club have talked about.
He wasn’t on any short list or we needed desperately and we’ve better targets.
Since when are the bbc sport right on things?? Amazes me.

Mr Davies you have an elevated view of yourself IMHO
Either injured or just plain dropped last season by different managers.
Do you want to play football or what as there doesn't seem a queue of takers.

I don’t see him as a PL midfielder. Very average at best. He would probably be first choice in many mid to lower championship teams which is the bracket we currently fall under. He’ll get a rude awakening when deadline day comes around and he finds himself still without a club.

He might get in lower premier end teams but has he the fight in him for a relegation battle? I'm not sure.
Another waste of someone who looked the part early on.

He has been playing for a lower end premier team and could not get a regular game there

Ned, to be clear for some of those above, does that mean he is definitely not coming here...?
