" We need a much better home record this season "

Thu Aug 10, 2023 6:22 pm

Starting on Saturday, we need to have a much better home record this season.

Last season we were awful at home.

We only scored 20 goals, got 25 points and just six wins from our 23 home games. The season before wasn't much better with 25 points again, 22 goals and seven wins.

Obviously that was nowhere near good enough.

So hopefully this season we can once again have a good record at home.

Fans have a part to play in that by turning up and creating a good atmosphere.

Let's get that started on Saturday :bluebird:

Atmosphere needs to be back, like the old days.

People also need to learn the words to MoH, singing der der der der followed by claps just sounds bloody awful. Would be the ultimate Cardiff war cry if the words were being sung throughout the stadium.

Agreed!!! I’m really looking forward to Saturday. New manager, new players and hopefully a decent home record to go with it!

Wrexham were on Sky the other night and their fans were singing it, sounded quite good.

It's been about a decade of trying to get people to sing the words to Men of Harlech and it has NEVER succeeded.

Lazy so and so's

Put the words on the big screen that would do the trick

They used to and on the electric advertising boards, still didn't work.

Agreed Ned.

With a hopefully near full house as the fans have Ramsey back and a very weak QPR team and everyone on a high.

We should get a perfect start.

Annis We will not get anywhere near a full house I would say we will do good to get 25k. They is a better feeling among people like ourselves who have been life long supporters but not sure it is rubbing off on those who turn up for the odd games or in getting new fans in

Fair enough,

If we win and win comfortably then hopefully the Glory hunters might take notice of us :bluebird: :bluebird:

Like you i would love a full house If we have a good season we will get some big crowds. I nearly did not renew my season ticket for first time in 40 years but when push came to shove I just could not give it up. Club still has a way to go in my opinion to win back old fans and get the next generation of fans through the turnstiles The only way to do this is win matches

I must admit I see a full house as the lower bowl. The upper Ninian is for Wales and the Premier League.

We are not a 33k Championship team unless it is the title winning game at the end of the season.

Lower bowl is about 28k from memory

Yeah. About 27,500 when built and then got it up to about 28k by filling in a bit of the corners.

So I would expect about 22 - 23 k for the start of the season, rising to about 25-26k if we kick on.

A lower bowl capacity of 28k after the come March / April if we are there or there abouts.

Then the upper tier capacity for a few games that seal auto promotion or the home leg of Semi play-offs.

Here's hoping.

Agree - bloody shockingly bad home record past couple of seasons and I too was on verge of not renewing.

This is City remember though - from very bitter, miserable experience, there's no way I'll right off QPR as an easy win!
