" Alnwick, Allsop or a new goalkeeper? "

Thu Aug 10, 2023 7:41 pm

Ryan Allsop was our first choice goalkeeper all last season.

Very good with his feet but not a good shot stopper.

Jak Alnwick played second fiddle last season but had his chance against Leeds due to Allsop's injury. He put in a great performance and then saved all three penalties he faced in the shootout against Colchester.

So who should be our number one?

Alnwick, Allsop or a new signing?

I say Alnwick. Believe he's a better shot stopper than Allsop and we would be better bringing in new signings in other positions.

Agree give Alnwick a fair crack at the whip.

I think Jak Alnwick deserves a run for sure.

if Allsop to Hull is more than a rumour and things are waiting til he s fit , then surely a new keeper needs to come in.
I wouldn t be surprised to see 4 come in before the window closes.
And the Likes of Vontae Campbell/ Bagan/Tanner /Evans and one of Rinnamohta or Sawyers go out

As long as the new keeper isn’t Wayne Hennessey then I’ll be happy. He’s 36 and passed his sell by date IMO… need to be looking at the ‘bigger’ clubs in the PL and taking their young keepers on loan.

If that doesn’t happen, then I’m happy to stick by Alnwick until January. :ayatollah:

Never rated him, although he had a great Euros.

Alnwick is much better, but strong rumours we are in for a better one :ayatollah:

Alnwick would be steady for the position we’re in now but if a good goalkeeper becomes available and would be a better investment for where we want to be in years to come then we need to think ahead too

Don’t even think Alnwick is as bad with his feet as people are making out

Allsop no votes says it all.
