LEICESTER CITY v CARDIFF CITY
Saturday 19th August, 3pm
Sky Bet Championship
King Power Stadium

It’s all ticket for Cardiff fabs who sold the initial allocation of 2,200 tickets in less than a few hrs.
City turned down the extra 1,000 as we would of had to pay for all of them.

TEAM NEWS

Cardiff City: Alnwick; Romeo, McGuinness, Goutas, Collins; Wintle, Ralls; Bowler, Ramsey, O'Dowda; Ugbo.

Subs: Runarsson, Etete, Grant, Adams, Meite, Siopis, Simpson, Tanner, Robinson.

Ralls and Robinson injury latest?

Bulut: "Robinson did well! He had a problem on his back - stiffness, so he couldn’t train all week (last week). We used him against QPR, these minutes are good and he did good offensively.

"We have to work a little bit on defence. He is a good player technically and you can play options and offensive football."

"Joe Ralls - he is now in training with us, I hope, how I saw in the last two days in training and I think he will be with us at Leicester."

Tuesday 15th August 2023:
Joe Ralls and Yakou Meite both took part in training today ahead of the clash with Leicester City this weekend.

Ryan Alsop is out injured.

King Power Stadium

Leicester have played at the King Power Stadium since 2002.

With a capacity of 32,241, the highest crowd for a football game there was a fixture against Sunderland in 2015 with 32,241 there.

It was famously the scene where Leicester lifted the Premier League title in 2016.

It has also played host to Champions League games.

The Opposition's Manager

Enzo Maresco was appointed Leicester manager this summer after their relegation from the Premier League.

He previously had a spell in charge of Parma.

Maresco was part of the coaching team as Manchester City won the treble last season.

Opposition Dangerous Players

Leicester are full of quality.

Jamie Vardy, Kelechi Iheanacho, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Stephy Mavididi are amongst those who can cause a lot of problems.

Head To Head

We haven't played Leicester since December 2018. On that occasion, we won 1-0 in a Premier League fixture at the King Power thanks to a late Victor Camarasa winner.

That was one of two wins in our last five meetings with them, Leicester have also won two with one draw.

Team News - Predicted Line-Ups

Leicester City: Stolarczyk, Pereira, Faes, Vestergaard, Doyle, Winks, Praet, Dewsbury-Hall, Marcal-Madivadua, Mavididi, Iheanacho

Cardiff City: Allsop, Ng, Goutas, McGuinness, O'Dowda, Wintle, Adams, Ramsey, Bowler, Grant, Ugbo

Last Game

We had a disappointing home defeat to QPR in our last game.

Leicester continued the strong start to their season with a 1-0 win at Huddersfield.

Match Odds

Leicester City - 2/5
Cardiff City - 13/2
Draw - 7/2

If the team need any motivation then a quick glance at their message board will help. Their lot think it's a guaranteed easy win and we'll offer nothing. Taking the mick that we are the 'Everton of the Championship' and always just do enough to stay up. I must admit I have little hope for this fixture but the Championship can always spring a surprise.

Joe Ralls and Yakou Meite both took part in training today ahead of the clash with Leicester City this weekend.

Both players missed the 2-1 home defeat by QPR, but appear to be closing in on a return for the King Power visit on Saturday afternoon.

Ralls sustained a hip issue in the opener against Leeds United, while Meite has been struggling all pre-season with a muscle injury.

Erol Bulut will hope both players are available for this weekend's fixture as City push for their first Championship win of the campaign.

Leicester to bolster for Cardiff clash

A 20 year old ready for the Championship as it should be.

Leicester City are set to bolster their squad for the upcoming clash against Cardiff City with the loan signing of Chelsea's Cesare Casadei.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Casadei, a 20-year-old midfielder, will join the Foxes imminently, in time to be included for their home fixture with the Bluebirds this weekend.

Romano reports that the deal was agreed for Italian, who spent last year on loan at Reading, last week.

I'll never understand why the club don't have a database that can accept 'expressions of interest' for away game tickets and then get people to commit to buying when/if they are released for sale...?

That way, our club could order the right numbers (good or bad) when the time was right rather than all this guesswork that often sees supporters miss out... :ayatollah:

Going tomorrow and looking forward to it.

Not been there since the play-off game when Whitts scored "that" frer kick.

Can always get an atmosphere going at the King Power.

Enjoy, Ned. Sadly, my first away game cannot be before November but I'll be there in spirit...

A tough game against an already upward moving Foxes team but I always believe we can take something from any game...

Good luck to the Bluebird team and brings us back at least some of the spoils... :bluebird: :ayatollah:

Leicester boss: Cardiff's QPR result 'not fair'
Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca is expecting a difficult test tomorrow after he cited the Bluebirds' positive start at Leeds United and their "unfair" result against QPR.

The Bluebirds are winless in the league, drawing up at Elland Road after taking a 2-0 lead before losing 2-1 to QPR at home last weekend.

And it will get no easier for them up at the King Power, where Leicester will be looking to win their first four games of the season in all competitions for the first time ever in the club's history.

Speaking about tomorrow's challenge, Maresca said: “It's a very important test. Very difficult. They have played Leeds and were 2-0 up. The result at home was not fair. They hit the crossbar. It will be a difficult game.”

Thanks Chris, fortunately I have family in the East Midlands so can stay with them for a couple of days.

It will be tough but pleased our fans sold this out so quickly.

Let me know the away games you'll be at and it will be good to to see you mate :bluebird:

If Leicester win this afternoon, it will only be the 2nd time in the last 100 years that they've won their first three league games at the start of a season.

Alnwick tries to find Bowler over the top of Doyle, but the defender does well to head back to Hermansen.

Goutas with an errant pass and it cedes possession to Leicester. Romeo with some sharp defending to block Mavididi. Leicester keep the ball but recycle back to their defenders. There was danger for a second, though.

Post! Goutas affords Iheanacho too much space and he bends a left-footed shot at goal - but it pings off the post!

First chance for City. Nice feet from Ramsey and he sticks a left-footed cross into the box. Ugbo rises and heads at goal - but it's over!

Ramsey caught in possession and Ndidi goes to break - but Ramsey yanks his foot! Naughty from the Welshman and he rightly gets a yellow.

Mavididi is played in via an excellent, pinpoint ball in behind from Dewsbury-Hall - Romeo is alert again and blocks the resultant cross. Corner. It's cleared.
