Cannot see this happening as free agent for interested parties this summer, who will at least owe City compensation once a deal is concluded. Unless we owe them and pay them in January but this cannot be put into a contract. But what do I know

Thanks, took me a while but I worked it out in the end.

I would love us to sign him but as stated above - the compensation will/may be the stumbling block here due to his age.

Maybe they should look at the small print of the transfer restrictions. Does compensation count as a "transfer" fee? Who knows I know I don't
