WOW: ‘ Cardiff City Tuesday ‘

Mon Aug 14, 2023 4:58 pm

UPDATED:

SHOCKING IN MY OPINION / ABSOLUTELY NO MORE EXCUSES / PURSE OUT.

Now our future stars lose 4-1 to Fleetwood Town.

Cardiff’s only goal was an own goal.

Under Purse we have been losing to Colchester United,Crawley, hammered by Bristol City, losing to Charlton etc

Updated:

DARREN PURSES 3RD YEAR IN CHARGE & HOPEFULLY / FINALLY CARDIFF CITY’S U21’S HAVE A GOOD SEASON :

Purse says he has put together one of the best squads he has been able to since he was in charge.

Our future stars:

7-8 well known names starting for the U21’s .

J.Colwill, Hughes, Zimba, Ashford, Benjamin, Semenyo , Wigley , Jefferies etc

Cardiff City's U21 side kick off their 2023/24 PDL campaign with a trip to face Fleetwood Town on Tuesday afternoon - 1pm KO.

Darren Purse after two poor seasons in charge starts a new season against Fleetwood U21’s and hopefully we should start with a Win.

Purse has to go surely? I'm not saying our kids are world beaters but getting spanked consistently for years is not good enough

Honestly I can not believe Dalman / Tan are allowing him for the 3rd year to be in charge? ? ?

We get beaten by unbelievable teams and lower leagues as well.

Maybe this is why he likes playing Welsh league teams as we can beat them.

Plus the obsession the last 2 years in sending our future players to them on loan was madness.

This idiot Purse has to go. We can't trust promising talent like Ashford and Joel Colwill with this guy.

a great club is built from the bottom up .... things need to change thats shocking i loved purse as a player but as a coach he just doesnt have a modern mindset to football its all too basic and stiff

Kyle,

Absolutely spot on, loved him as a player, as a coach NO NO NO.

And who is this Gavin Chesterfield. Why are we appointing such numb-nuts?

Him and Purse and both obsessed with us and the Welsh League.

These people are trusted with potentially millions of pounds worth of future EPL players.

If u pay peanuts u get monkies and that's what we've got.

Bristol City have just sold Alex Scott to Bouremouth in a £25m deal. The teenager came out of the Robins academy system.

When was the last time our academy produced a player of such financial magnitude?

The other problem is because Our Championship U21’s beat Clubs like Barry Town and Cambrian just about, Glen Williams raved about our wins and that’s not playing against good opposition.

FLEETWOOD U21’S 4 CARDIFF CITY U21’S 1

H-T 3-0

Cardiff’s only goal was an own goal.

Josh Edwards opened the scoring for the hosts on 10 minutes, cutting inside and bending one past Jake Dennis in the City net, before Theo Williams doubled the lead just three minutes later.

Nathan Pond then made it three to the good before the break, heading home well from a Fleetwood free-kick.

Cardiff attempted to mount a fightback when they scored through a Fleetwood own goal in the second half, but that was short lived when Tom Hoyle made it 4-1 for the hosts.

Not the ideal start to the season for Darren Purse's side.

Cardiff City XI: Dennis; Semenyo, Beecher, Benjamin, Giles; Kenniford, Hughes, J. Colwill, Wigley; Ashford; Zimba.

Subs: Thomas, Johnson, Twose, Lawlor, Jefferies.

Pathetic result again. It's not necessary for a development team to win every match but being thumped by, with the greatest respect, Fleetwood is not good enough. Purse definitely needs to go now.

Enough is enough purse out ASAP, bring back sol bamba

Bring back SM, he got them playing.
Purse loved you as a player but not coach material, this is ridiculous when you think how many managers we got through

Re: WOW: ‘ Cardiff City Tuesday ‘

Tue Aug 15, 2023 5:05 pm

Just don’t get how the demise of the u21s over the last few years has been allowed to carry on without a change of coach etc.
We have produced virtually no first teamers in the past 3 seasons so how can Purse keep his job ????
Change now ….or have another season of mediocrity

Maybe City have other priorities sadly and taken their eye off the ball at this level.

It's an odd one because under Steve Morison's tenure as U-21 coach we went from strength to strength... :?

Under Darren Purse (a Bluebird player I admired) we seem to have gone backwards, despite having a seemingly good batch of players at that level...

Saying we had 16-year olds in the team doesn't really wash, as dominant Colchester had at least two of their own in there..

We need to remember it was Darren Purse who put together the 'reatain/release' list for decisions to be made and he was instrumental in seeing Lennon Peake depart after he offered him out to a Welsh League side...

I might be missing something but I'm not too sure Darren Purse is the man for the job... :(

If our club is going to succeed we need an operational academy plus u21 to bring players through wether to play or sell on but not with that bunch running the show, can't see why the gaffer hasn't spotted it yet.
