“ EROL BULUT BLAMES “

EROL BULUT BLAMES THE LAST TWO YEARS AT THE CARDIFF CITY STADIUM SAYING THE PLAYERS HACE IT STILL IN THEIR MINDS HOW BAD ITS BEEN:

Buluts team had played at home this season v two Welsh Premier Clubs and Colchester United in the Cup, undefeated against mediocre opposition.

Saturday, July 1 vs. Penybont FC (Cardiff City Stadium, 3pm). 2-0

Tuesday, July 4 vs. The New Saints (Cardiff City Stadium, 7:30pm) 3-1

Plus Colchester United home 2-2, with City Winning 3-0 on penalties.

CARDIFF CITY Started with only two of last seasons players that finished the season, with Bulut starting five of his new players and players who had not virtually featured for the Bluebirds last season Adams, McGuinness, Alnwick etc

EROL BULUT:

"Many players, I think they still have in their head the last two years, how the Championship was for them with Cardiff City in the Championship - it was not good. Some players still have that in their mind. I need to push it out of them, to feel confident and believe in themselves and what they are doing to achieve our target.

"I need to push these negative things out of them, we need positive things. We have to work on it to get it out of them.

"I played for 20 years, it's not easy, but we will do everything possible to put it out of their heads. With many players, individually, from my time when I was playing, how I tried to handle it I took advice with communication, we will try and make it better for them.

"Last year is last year, it's finished. We cannot think back about what happened in the past. We have to look forward to what we can get rather than what we've lost. This was last season. Now it's now."

The last two seasons, winning just 13 of their last 47 Championship games at Cardiff City Stadium.

Absolutely Correct Ned,

This is a new beginning and the majority of his first team never played last season.

So they won’t be thinking about it, So as a new beginning we should have no reason why we can’t beat the likes of QPR, Colchester, Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea at home as none of them teams are any special.

I believe this is a better and stronger team than last season, they were awful last season, this is virtually a New first team.

After these last 2 games I'm not sure the squad is better than last season.

We have 2 very difficult games coming up and if we do not perform we will be facing an uphill battle. The pressure will be back on even stronger.

I agree with Worcester blue, it’s a fresh start, new beginning so we should be winning these home games :bluebird:

That was a very poor team last season, surely we have improved? We have stronger players and from higher leagues, I think it’s down to Bulut now to man manage

I find this unbelievable but at least Bulut is aware of it and can look to address the issue swiftly.

Other posters are correct in that we're using players new to the club who should embrace the opportunity to play in a great stadium for a fantastic football club.

Why are certain players holding on to the past? What purpose does it serve except to breed pointless negativity. For me thus situation is 100% unacceptable.

Resolve, determination and resilience are surely key characteristics for professional sports people!? If there's a bloody hangover from the last couple seasons that should have been put to bed as a priority.

If not, why not? Maybe the club should appoint a good sports psychologist or see how Man City approach each new season (in terms of starting from scratch and wiping the slate clean).

This kind of wet excuse is really poor. Just get your heads together lads!

I think the team has been short of strong characters for some time. Let’s hope that’s been part of the remit when considering who joins us.
