I was excited when he signed for us but sadly the reality was he was unable to live up to expectations, despite supporters like myself wanting to give him every opportunity...

A wasted talent that cost us (I mean VT) well in excess of £10m+ and is part of the reason I sometimes understand the owner's point about poor decisions with his money from certain managers...

I was the same, wanted him to succeed and although he did score a few goals, it never really clicked for him. I feel sorry for the lad, his confidence has definitely been dented.

After we had signed him some pundit came out with "we signed the wrong brother" how right he was.

When he could be bothered he was a good player but his attitude is all wrong when I seen him a big headed little sod
and that is why where he is now and his brother is fighting in Newcastle a far better attitude and a fighter

I do wonder whether we could offer him a "Performance Related Pay" deal.

Sign him on a deal at £1000 per week.

If he makes it to the first team he receives a £5000 bonus.

If he scores (or assists a goal) he receives a further £2500 bonus.

The ball is in his court. If he sees himself bigger than the club then he will soon drop out of football altogether.

If he puts the effort in then he could earn himself a proper contract.

Agree with you on a wasted talent. It was painful watching him left isolated on the wing in so many games, having no option than to take on three opposing players. Inevitably losing the ball. Both Murphy and Bobby Reid were well and truly square pegs in round holes with Warnocks set up and tactics. Should never have bought them as he didn’t use either properly.
