“Will any of them make it?”

Tue Aug 22, 2023 8:42 am

WILL ANY OF THEM MAKE IT IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP?

Their ages are 20-26 years old and for me if they are Championship quality Erol and previous managers would of had them playing?

They are not kids anymore, it would be great to see a couple of them make it.
They finally have gone out to higher leagues than previous years

But “ALL” the previous players sent out on loan over the years have eventually been moved on to lower league or non league.

Isaak Davies, Eli King, Tom Davies , Oliver Denham , Joel Bagan and Sheyi Ojo have all been sent out on loan by Erol Bulut on season long loans.

Kieran Evans is set to go out on loan as well.

Cant see it myself - a few maybe davis and bagan could have had a chance had they been loaned to quality teams in previous seasons. But sadly, I now believe that window of opportunity has gone for these boys. Lets hope from now on the new gaffer sees potential in our youngsters and places them in the right league to better themselves ... Onwards and Upwards :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

Only ones I could see making it are Bagan, Denham, and King on that list.

Kieran Evans Maybe Bagan if they get good loans will be do ok in the championship I think Bagan did really well for us scored a few goals but then he looked a little suspect defending but then at the moment we are weak in that position until Collins gets his confidence back

I think the main answer to that is will they be given a chance to make it?

If your good enough you will make it.

What a silly reply, if they are good enough other Championship clubs will pick them up or you would be knocking on the door at the very least of the first team.

And if they stood out then Erol Bulut seems straight and to the point, he will or would give them a chance if he thinks there is something about them.

So are you saying as well all the last 20 odd other players that came though were never given a chance?

Re: “Will any of them make it?”

They may make it professionally but championship level is a tough ask. Bellamy always saw something in Isaak Davies so there must be a player there, maybe this year abroad will make him really knuckle down and improve. Ojo bottom of the pile for me, the waster should never get another professional contract

“If your good enough you will make it”

Not necessarily if your 21 doesn’t mean you’re ready to make it or you won’t.
Managers jobs rely on experience and that’s what they will go for, so many don’t get the chance.

“Silly reply”? Other championship managers won’t take them as their jobs depend on results and these youngsters don’t have consistency in them against men.

Can you name any players from championship clubs who were released and eventually made it??

Unfortunately it’s a business at football clubs these days and we like every other club release players who don’t make the grade but we also lose players who are good enough who have been pinched by the bigger clubs.

Your reply is a bit naive and clearly missing the reality of what goes on within a football club!!

Well all the players out there were 21 once were and are in the Championship, they must have come from somewhere??

Still waiting on your answers.

If I am Naive , please name the players that have made it from our club Accademy etc in the last 14 yrs then and are regular Championship players ?

Ok name them and the club, that’s a bit of a silly answer “ they were all 21 and must have come from somewhere”. We all know that just check on how many younger players were released at the end of the season, should enlighten you.

Your grudge is against the Academy and certainly Purse the manager. He can only use what he’s got!
I appreciate you feel strongly about it maybe if he gets the sack you should give it a try and bring in your changes/improvements.

Well you know the answer to that one and if we did have just one special talented player he’d soon be snapped up by a big club and languish in their reserves to never be seen again.

You think Purse should go ok if he does would you be up for it??

Well you never named any players , I rest my case.

Really liked Purse as player, loved him playing for us.

Absolutely love it if players make it, but Putse is not good enough.

I never liked our players going to Welsh league clubs.

I want actually I desperately want our Accademy to succeed.

But it won’t the way it’s being run.

And Chesterfield I don’t believe is good enough, that’s my view from what I am hearing.

Imo the answer is no I get it if there 17 and 18 but not 20 somethings something ain't right because when was the last time we had 1 just 1 player from the under 21s or below to become a first team regular from the off. Answers on a rizzla skin unless your going back dog years of course but we had no choice then :bluescarf:

We will beg to differ on that and that’s what opinions are about.

We are all passionate about our club and want the best but it doesn’t work like that.

I think any of our youngsters these days if they have a natural talent it gets trained out of them as they want 6’ plus players who are strong, agile and athletic. Talented players don’t come like that they are often shorter and comfortable with the ball at their feet.

I agree with Bulut our younger players need to go to league 1, 2 or Scotland and even Europe to improve.

I think everyone wants a successful Academy however if we do get people who run it correctly they get snapped up by bigger clubs. We need a policy of how to play from the first team all the way down.

Hopefully our new manager will push this down the levels in the Academy but it’s a long process and as we know things change very quickly.

Cardiff’s Ollie Tanner got minutes under his belt for the under-21s on Tuesday afternoon against Sheffield Wednesday.

It was the Bluebirds' first home fixture of the PDL season and it was an entertaining one, ending in a 3-3 draw.

Bailey Cadamarteri scored for the visitors late on to deny the home team the win.

Chanka Zimba scored a hat-trick for the Bluebirds, and Tanner got 68 minutes in his legs.

Semi Ajayi one of the few I can think of that come good after being released by a few clubs when he was young, us being one of them, arsenal another

I am not being funny but he was not one of our youth players that came through us??

He had 3 clubs before joining us.

That’s quite sad we have to look that deep to find a player that once played for us and many others before to say he finally made it.

We really have been awful producing good players.

That was kind of my point, I’m not sure any of our products from youth have amounted to much after release, but he’s an example that some players mature late.

In fairness, if any of them show any kind of real potential at a young age they are taken from us, Matondo as an example. So it should be a case that we are looking for someone to develop into a top player more than is already gifted and just needs refining

Your point is valid.

In 14 years only 3 have been taken from us at a young age and it will be interesting if they make it??

Re: “Will any of them make it?”

We had a spell of bring in a number of Youth players into the squad a couple of seasons ago and it was a disaster. This was driven by Tan who wanted to save the pennies. We have not recovered since.

Of late we have had 2 that have made the headlines, Colwill and Davies. Lets be brutal here but they only really got in because our squad was crap. Now Davies has been loaned out and where is Colwill these days?

I'm not expecting to see any of the Youth make it to the first team.

Correct Ian and that’s facts.

Tan demanded at least 12 to be in the first team squad, unbelievable, I got slammed by Tans fans on here , how many did well ? ZERO.

We have not produced any quality players under Tan at all.
