Steven caulker ?

Rumour is he's signing would you welcome him back ? .

Bulut knows him well and if he feels he can add something then why not offer him a short term contract. Certainly seemed to do ok at Wigan before he had to leave due to their non payment of wages issues.

He's much better than Simpson and in terms of his personal issues he had, he's in a much better place.

Wouldn't be disappointed if he came back, and would be a good back-up option - which is what we need as Goutas and McGuinness are great as first choices but we just need someone to cover them for injuries/suspensions.

No, past his sell by date

Bulut taking him is a very strong rumour, I hope not.

FOREVER BLUE

Totally agree

What about having paterrson back as a striker?
Or holliet on the wing

"Move on" if it was Cody dramhem who is still a young lad fair enough

but as you say caulker best days are behind him.

I thought this might happen , Caulker can do a job till January . Plenty of experience and at the moment we have limited options due to the transfer ban !

Could do worse than Paterson back

Loved Paterson.

Caulker is a journey man and I heard so many bad stories about him during his time at Cardiff, NO thank you.

His podcast on Undr The Cosh is a great listen. He's performed well in recent years in the Turkish league. Wasn't he at Wigan modt recently though, he must hole some record for the number of relegations he's been involved with.

A gamble, but does he improve the squad... maybe, just about!

Paterson was so whole hearted and loved it here. I always remember when he dived into the goal after we scored. His face was like all the fans’ faces. I would prefer him as a striker to Meite. More confident with him one on one.

I'd take Caulker. He's had a few good seasons recently and he knows the championship. His wage demands wont be too bad and he's a good solid defender at the end of the day. Chips in with the odd goal too. I'm glad I don't really know any of the stories about his time here though...it would be a No if I did I'm sure.

Re: Steven caulker ?

Caulker would be a good option, he would do a job if needed, we are looking for a back up option and he would suit.
we are under an embargo. used most of our loan spots and are only looking for a squad player .
I trust the manager …
as for Patterson, him over Moore every day of the week.

I think this signing would be a smart bit of businesses. A short term fix unitl our options improve in Jan. People seem to think that because we have had an excellent transfer window that we can go out and get who we want.

We have 1 loan signing left and what's available in the free transfers.

Caulker would be a similar option to Morrison good in the air in both boxes and experience which for me we've been lacking in later moments of games.

As a back up option I would 100% prefer him to Simpson

Let's hope not, nowhere near the same player we had before

Re: Steven caulker ?

People saying no need to look at the restrictions we are under plus the fact that we haven't been a very attractive destination recently due to on field and off field problems.

Dont get me wrong, I think we should be going for the best players we can get, but although Caulker may not be a starter he'd be good back up.

Put plain and simple;

Caulker > Simpson

Short term deal until Jan to prove he deserves a longer deal. Yes

Agruably alot better. It was one of his lowest moments in his life. Drink and gambling addict.

Re: Steven caulker ?

it depends on a few things, how is he mentally now, because he potentially could of been a great leader in a dressing room, he's better than Simpson, so a short term deal might be a tidy thing, especially as we don't have the cash to spend. i would of preferred us to have signed Kipre on loan

Hes sorted himself out and is only just turned 31 ? If he fit could be a master class

Re: Steven caulker ?

If comes down to him or no one would certainly take him as many said better than Simpson.

Re: Steven caulker ?

I’ve heard all the stories about Caulker also.
He used to live up the road from me.

That was years ago and I’d certainly welcome him here until the end of the season.
Great experience at this level and is so much better than Simpson.

Not for.me. He may be better than Simpson and I know we are up against it until January but there has to be better out there. Can't see this coming off.. hoping anyway

Everyone is, we need more than better than Simpson.
