I am trying all the time. I am here and the board are trying really hard to get some quality players in. But our issue is that we cannot spend so much. We have to send some players away. But I will try at least to bring in one more centre-back and I hope we can finalise it.

Yes. We have an injury from the last game. Josh Bowler. His calf and his tendon. Maybe it looks like he will not be with us for the next game.

I hope it’s only one game and then he will be with us.

He started well. Maybe this injury is because he didn’t have games before with Nottingham Forest. Then he came into the starting XI from this position, so maybe it’s that.

Not far away from getting that win?

When we see the last three games, how we played and how we tried to manage it.. Against QPR was different. We had the game in our hands. We had 60-65% of the ball, if you see the statistics, we should win the game!

We made the transfers to alter the offensive part of the squad, but we couldn’t manage to put the ball in. We have to put the game together for 90 minutes - 45 or 60 is too short! We need to be fully concentrated to play a full game over 90 minutes.

He had a red card from last week. We shouldn’t have had that, but it was a red card. We have to be more careful with that and the kind of red cards we are getting. In defence we have fewer options, so we have to be more careful with cards generally.

I didn’t see the situation, afterwards I saw it. We have to control ourselves much, much better. As a player we have to try to control ourselves. We shouldn’t have had a red card and Mahlon knows it. I hope he will learn.

Frustrated so far?

The frustration came in the first game against Leeds. OK, it’s Leeds, relegated from the Premier League with Premier League players, a good team but we had it in our hands until 90+5 minutes. Not only me, but fans, players, everyone is frustrated. We have to manage it and keep that result.

Against Leicester, everyone could see that the second half there was no difference between the two teams. We did a good job in the second half and created the chances to come back to Cardiff with three points. But in the end we didn’t finalise it and the opponent did. 90+2 they create a chance, a small mistake in our defence, and then we lose the game from nothing. We should have at least had a point in Leicester.

More you’re not taking chances then?

Defensively, always there will be small mistakes. But when we are doing these mistakes the opponents hurt us. When the opponents make mistakes, we don’t hurt the opponents. If we did we would be sitting here with six points.

Saturday…

Sheffield haven’t got a win and we have analysed them. They stay really deep in defence. They try to be compact, but we have trained on it to get in positions to score and then we have to finalise it. We have to create chances and we have to score.

And individually we have to work on our skills to make fewer mistakes.

You know better than me, on the last day many transfers go through… maybe we can catch one of them! In the end, it’s not easy because of our punishment.

We tried really hard to get players early - that’s why we got some of these transfers. We have reacted quickly from the start to get 8 transfers.

How many you have to let go this week?

First of all it depends on the agents of the players. You know exactly how they try to deal with things. I know what they try to do but I will act only in a way that profits Cardiff City - not other people. Only in the interest of the club.

The squad is not too big - it’s 25 or 26 or 27 players. To have 25 players plus goalkeepers would be OK, in case you need them. 25 until January is a good number.

Some young players we have that we can use.

Players leaving - Rubin Colwill?

We have No interest in loaning him out. He will stay definitely with us. I know he has some offers to go out on loan, but he will stay. Rubin is doing well. How he started in pre-season to where he is right now. He will get his minutes. He will have his cup games and league games and he will give his performances.

He will have to continue to believe in himself.

Why don’t Cardiff win at home?

I cannot speak about last season and before that because I wasn’t here. This season - the first home season, QPR we lost, unluckily, in my opinion. This game we should win. Statistics will not bring us three points. They have to put the ball in the net. Away and at home.

We have to think defensively and offensively we have to be more concentrated. Don’t act too quickly - make a few metres more, make one more pass - we are training every day for it. I hope this week we will take our first win and other wins will follow. I can speak only about the last three games.

We are creating and playing well but only 45 minutes or 60 minutes is not enough. In these final minutes, we have to finish the game.
