100% about these promising kids we have

100% about these promising kids we have.

John Toshack and Aaron Ramsey were in the first team at 16, our beloved Phil Dwyer at 18, Andy Dibble at 17

Nathan Blake was barely 19 and you could see he was going places.

Linden Jones was 17, I remember his debut. Same debut as Colin Sullivan and Ronnie Moore. I also think it was Richie Morgan's first game as manager. Orient Home...

Yes and another one who shoukd of gone all the way but never took football serious, Lee Jarman, had real potential.

Tarki Micaleff also was good, but he told me football was not his main ambition.

I have said I will Judge after 12 League games, we will know where we really are going.

I say that about every manager, I think it’s fair.

As to our future kids, I am absolutely gutted that for 14 years we are still to produce any quality Championship players, really gutted.

Especially after the build ups and bullshit in the local Media.

In the 90’s I sponsored over 15 City players that came through the ranks from Scott Young, Jason Perry, Lee Jarman etc to players like Andy Legg, I loved Welsh players making it.

Yes I am very disheartened by how things are now.

My Grandson has just signed up for the Cardiff City Academy after turning down Bristol City. Gavin Chesterfield the new Academy Manager gave a very impressive presentation of the way ahead and the move to the new Academy at Llanrumney this week. The club have put a lot of money into improving the Academy and hope to have it upgraded up to a category 1 in future.
The Academy have produced top players like Tom Lockyer Luton captain and Wales,Jarod Bowen West Ham and England,Andrew Hughes Preston,Ben Cabango Swansea and Wales,Wes Burns Ipswich and Wales,Rabbi Montana Rangers and Wales in the past few years but let them all go which is a worry!
As Capital of Wales,I think we should be signing more Welsh players who would love to play at their home ground, rather than journeymen who are only here for the money! With Rambo being captain of Wales,I was disappointed that we didn’t sign Welsh Internationals who were available this summer such as Morgan Fox QPR,Wayne Hennessy Notts Forest and Dylan Levitt Hibs!

I'd rather have good players than average Welsh players. None of those names you mentioned would actually improve the team.

Do you think Man City would rather have Ollie Watkins and James Maddison instead of Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne?

Average Welsh players! Hennessy is still better than any of our Keepers, 250 Premier League games,100 caps,Morgan Fox 250 + Championships games and can play either full back position or Centre Back, and Dylan Levitt ex Man Utd trainee is only going to get better. Trouble is we’re just another English League team mostly with English and foreign players that’s why we under perform year after year. As Capital of Wales and with our catchment area we should be an established Premier League team!

Firstly Jarrod Bowen was never in our academy He had a trial but never got in . Tom Lockyer was released at 15 and to be fair to the academy no one would have expected him to do what he has done My son was in same academy team him Wez Burns was in the same team and has really done nothing until he joined Ipswich He is now 28. But the Jarrod Bowen one does get me as he had played conference football at just 16 when he had a trial and how many youngsters play in conference at 16 without something too them

Totally different game to our little golden generation, all we are doing now is filtering the better prospects for the big guns to come in at 16 and offer them a grand a week and a house for their parents.....

Unless the authorities do something that stops it there is absolutely no point in having the cost of an academy

unfortunately annis this isn't the fault of the club. the FA changed the rules regarding academy players, meaning now a Cat 1 Academy, can come in at 15/16 when the promising players who we hope will break through, and be able to offer them a contract and pay a rather lower Compensation fee for them, it is ruining football for me, how many youngsters in league one and league 2 might have gone on and had great careers if they stayed at their clubs, broke through, developed and then made moves, instead of signing for a City or a Chelsea, staying until they are 18, getting released and then no wants them because theres been no real development
