Moore and others for those interested

Sat Aug 26, 2023 1:51 pm

The sooner he comes to city the better, came on in the 87th minute.
Sawyer is definitely on his way out. In the shop window today. There are three clubs interested in him, and there will be a surprising addition to our squad before the window closes, someone who we did not think we would need

Not known but as he has a year left, on his contract I think it would mean yes!

Thanks for the info Igoverner, very interesting. Shame about Sawyers, he's a very skillful player but just does not have that fight or desire. Lacking speed/pace and possibly the required fitness levels too. 3 points today...come the bluebirds!!!

Erol Bulut says Cardiff City will "try" to get a centre-back in the building by Friday's deadline after overseeing his first league win as Bluebirds boss.

Ryan Wintle's 97th-minute penalty gave City all three points late on when it looked like they would have to settle for a share of the spoils against Sheffield Wednesday.

Ike Ugbo had given the hosts the lead before Barry Bannan pulled the scores level. It looked like it would stay that way but former Bluebird Will Vaulks handled in the box to give Wintle the opportunity to seal the win at the death - and he took it.

After the game, Bulut delivered the latest on the recruitment front and the situation with keeper Ryan Allsop, who appears to be closing in on a move to Hull City.

On the centre-back hunt, Buluit said: "Good question. I mentioned before, we try, we try. I said [it’s] economics. So we try our best. We still have a little bit of time. I hope we can manage to have one centre-back in at least."

Allsop has Jak Alnwick and Alex Runarsson in front of him in the pecking order at Cardiff City Stadium and Bulut revealed it was the player himself who wanted to leave.

"We got that message [that he wanted to leave], it was not from our side, it was from his management’s side," he added.

"If somebody wants to leave, we don't keep anybody here. So for that shirt, you have to fight. He did it in the years before, but his management brought something like this instead. So then we'll make also our move for a goalkeeper and we took Alex Runarsson on loan. And then we let [Allsopp] go."

My GUESS is Kipre

Really don't know why Kipre would sign or why WBA would loan him to us again!? He scored for WBA yesterday and has been integral to their pretty good start to the season.

Exactly can't see him going anywhere after yesterday. His first few performances gave us a chance but now, probably not. I trust buluts recruiting tho, goutas has been solid. We will get another quality CB in. The refreshing thing about bulut is he's very aware of what he needs to get the team playing his way. Love siopis too. I hope bulut is given time and it is a long term project, really encouraging start.

Was saying that yesterday. He's clearly aware of what we need but he's not moaning about not getting players he wants. He's not whining about the ones he has. Just getting on with things.

Yeah really refreshing, I'm just hoping for top half of the table this year and then see what he can do with some money. Tans leisure/hotel businesses will hopefully improve even more and we can have a few mill to chuck at a push.

I honestly don't think VT is driving the bus right now, as Mehmet Dalman is having the run of things...

I'm not totally sure but I'm getting the feeling any additional monies being spent on the actual team (rather than club) is being financed via Torman (Mehmet's finance company)

I've been told that the next few months are going to be 'interesting and game-changing' but not at what level... :? :ayatollah:

Kipre was MOTM and a goal yesterday. Can't see him coming, in my opinion.

Yes, I think that ship has sailed now and WBA will keep hold of him...

Could be a good time to go in for Cody Drameh, though. Them insular Leeds supporters weren't too happy with him yesterday...! ;)

Not sure there's been any new monies from dalman as there has been no charges filed at companies House.

He's top of my list for a signing. He was class for us. Very very good at this level.

Indeed, Wez; but it's what is happening well behind the scenes that is intriguing me...

I was told last season that two 'genuine' offers had been made and neither involved Sam (my preferred choice as 'Head of Football') and I believe at least one is still in the mix... :ayatollah:
