Cardiff City goalkeeper Ryan Allsop looks set to join Hull City after Bluebirds manager Erol Bulut said he could leave the Championship club.
Allsop, 31, joined Cardiff from Derby in 2022 and started all but two of the Bluebirds' league games last season.
But with Jak Alnwick now Cardiff's first choice and Alex Runarsson joining on loan from Arsenal, Allsop has yet to feature in this campaign.
"If somebody wants to leave, we don't keep anybody here," said Bulut.
"We got a message from his [Allsop's] management.

Won't miss him but out of interest, do we actually have a 3rd choice keeper now or is that the position the Guvnor hinted at us not needing a player?

Uh? Not convinced about what or who exactly because there is no way you mean Alnwick.

??
Alnwick had a brilliant game again today and was only beaten by a brilliant goal from Bannan.
We also have Runarsson as an option.
I agree with Bulut, if Allsop doesn't want to stay then it's right to let him go.
Not that bothered about Allsop going, he's probably third choice anyway.
More than pleased to continue the season with Alnwick and Runarsson.

Matt Turner will become 3rd choice. That will please our chairman as he scores goals.

There is a reason why Allsop has had so many clubs. I think we are his 13th or 14th…. Not a Championship keeper IMO… we have far better options.

Allsop has Jak Alnwick and Alex Runarsson in front of him in the pecking order at Cardiff City Stadium and Bulut revealed it was the player himself who wanted to leave.
"We got that message [that he wanted to leave], it was not from our side, it was from his management’s side," he added.
"If somebody wants to leave, we don't keep anybody here. So for that shirt, you have to fight. He did it in the years before, but his management brought something like this instead. So then we'll make also our move for a goalkeeper and we took Alex Runarsson on loan. And then we let [Allsopp] go."

The 31-year-old was Cardiff's number one when new manager Erol Bulut arrived, but the Turkish boss decided to go in a different direction, instead bringing in Alex Runarsson from Arsenal and persevering with Jak Alnwick.
Allsop has almost 350 career appearances to his name across the Championship, League One, Two and even a couple in the Premier League, so arrives at the club with vast experience, and is still relatively young in goalkeeper terms.
Finding a goalkeeper of a required standard is not easy and comes with significant cost. Allsop is a competent Championship goalkeeper, rated highly by Liam Rosenior, and fits into his group well, so for a relatively low outlay, it's a deal that makes sense.
Rosenior will feel he can improve Allsop, and so too, will having him around improve Matt Ingram, who, is almost being forgotten in this discussion, and remains respected as one of the most consistent goalkeepers in the league, by his fellow professionals, and those that know what they're talking about.
The City boss would have seen Allsop's abilities on a daily basis when the pair shared the Moor Farm training ground on the outskirts of Derby, and he spoke glowingly of him after City's 1-0 win over the Bluebirds last season.
