MY VIEW / OPINION: CARDIFF CITY TONIGHT DESERVEDLY ARE THROUGH TO THE 3RD RD OF THE CUP AFTER BEATING TEN MEN BRUM AWAY AT ST ANDREWS:


Very happy tonight:


For me tonight was a way stronger side put out than I expected and I am glad as Cardiff were worthy winners.

Cardiff dominated long periods.

Collwill played well once again.

We looked very good at times.

I am not sure if Etete or Grant are good enough for us upfront:
I know Etete scored but over he is misses so many.

The last 10mins Cardiff defended well.


Over all very happy with tonight’s performance and worthy of the next round.



League Cup 2nd Rd:



FIRST-HALF: GOAL! Birmingham City 0-1 Cardiff City (Colwill 3)
What a start! Fantastic ball swept out wide by Wintle and Grant skins his man, leaving him for dead, before smacking a low cross and Rubin Colwill opens his body up and slots home from 10 yards out. Lovely finish. Lovely goal.


Runarsson made a fantastic one hand save to keep Cardiff in the lead.

Cardiff defended their lead well and created a number of chances and deserved their lead, plenty of possession by Cardiff.




SECOND-HALF: 56th: RED! Lukas Jutkiewicz sent off for a terrible challenge on Mahlon Romeo.

60th min: Kieron Evans replaced Grant who has not done much

68th min: Wintle scores 0-2


Brum made a Sub Hogan in and 2mins later:
73rd min: Bloody hell 1-2 Brum tore our defence to pieces. Scott Hogan.

74 min:@AshfordCian comes on, replacing @ryanwintle123.
McGuinness on for Ng.

What a performance. That wasn't far off Brun's first team (3rd in the league) and we made them look very very poor.

Being greey my only criticisms..should've scored more and a clean sheet!

Great result tonight, i think the fact that this looked like a strong team on paper but only one starter from Saturday was on the field shows we are starting to get the strength in depth we need to compete in the Championship.
