A few injuries. Josh Bowler continues to be injured. And now we add O’Dowda to that. That looks like two or three weeks. But we still have enough players to put on the field!

780 approx tickets sold of the 2,000 plus allocation, City fans can pay on the day :bluebird:

Portman Road

Ipswich have played their home games at Portman Road since 1884.

It has also hosted one England senior match in 2003, as well as England youth games.

The stadium has a capacity of 30,311.

The record attendance since it became all seater is 30,152 for the derby game against Norwich City in 2003.

The all time record attendance was 38,010 for an FA Cup game against Leeds United in 1975.

The Opposition's Manager

Kieran McKenna has been in charge of Ipswich since December 2021 and has impressed many with the job he has done.

He guided them to a mid table finish in 2021/22, before getting promoted to the Championship in his first full season. Last season, they finished 2nd in League One to achieve that.

This his first senior management job but he previously had management experience at U18 level for Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.

He also had a spell as a coach and assistant manager with Manchester United's first team before leaving to take the job at Ipswich.

Opposition Dangerous Players

Nathan Broadhead has had a strong start to the season with two goals and an assist in the league.

Conor Chaplin is also an obvious dangerman. He scored 26 goals in League One last season and has two league goals so far this season.

Head To Head

We are unbeaten in our last five games against Ipswich, winning four of them - including our last meeting when we won 1-0 at Portman Road in a Championship fixture in February 2018.

It is actually six head to heads since they last beat us, which happened in April 2015 when they beat us 3-1 in a Championship game.

Team News - Predicted Line-Ups

Ipswich Town: Hladky, Clarke, Woolfenden, Burgess, Davis, Morsy, Luongo, Chaplin, Burns, Broadhead, Jackson

Cardiff City: Alnwick, Ng, McGuinness, Goutas, Collins, Siopis, Ralls, Ramsey, O'Dowda, Ugbo, Meite

Last Game

Both teams progressed to the third round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday. Ipswich won on penalties at Reading after a 2-2 draw, while we won 3-1 at Birmingham.

In the last league games on Saturday, we beat Sheffield Wednesday at home 2-1 and Ipswich lost 4-3 at home to Leeds - although that was Ipswich's first points dropped of the season.

Match Odds

Ipswich Town - 4/6
Cardiff City - 4/1
Draw - 3/1

Just picked up 2 tickets for me and my son for his first away fixture, sounds like there are a few left but not to many.

OPPOSITION FOCUS -

Wales international Nathan Broadhead has made a positive start to the league season.

The winger has recorded two goals and an assist in the opening four matches of the campaign.

Broadhead found the net on the opening day against Sunderland, scoring against his former club.

The 25-year-old also scored his side’s second goal in the 4-3 defeat to Leeds United.

Burns: Cardiff Release Was Devastating -

Wes Burns will tomorrow line-up against boyhood favourites Cardiff, the club that shattered his dream to play for them and reduced him to tears when they released him as a youngster.

Burns, born and raised in the Welsh capital, remembered: “They were the first club I followed. I used to go with my granddad and my brother, so there’s a little bit of history in this game for me.

“It goes all the way back to the start of my love for football, which means there’s a little bit more in it for me, plus I used to play for them at academy level.

First real chance for City. @karlangrant creates space inside the box, but curls totally wide of goal.

A couple of early chances.

Broadhead had a header saved by Runarsson and then Grant had a shot which went wide.

Tough game so far and pretty even first 10, although Cardiff have given ball away a few times

Grant scores but the offside flag is up

Brilliant save by the keeper to deny Goutas just before

Cardiff have the ball in the back of the net but the flag is up for offside.

A great save from Hladky just before the flag went up.

I’d like to see another angle showing the line on that. Didn’t look offside to me he looked as if he was making sure he was on

Chaplin's low cross requires a fingertip save from Rúnarsson.

Looks perfectly in line here but without a similar angle to the linesman it’s hard to say

After a driving run from Tanner, the ball falls to Grant, who sends a strike well wide of goal.
