Cardiff could not get a deal over the line for Keither Moore, Moore wanted to return badly. There were many factors as to why that was the case, but one of them would have been the Cherries' inability to bring in a replacement, with their move for Leicester City's Patson Daka breaking down in the final throes of the window.

One disappointing aspect of deadline day was Cardiff's inability to send out players. Vontae Campbell, Romaine Sawyers and Andy Rinomhota were all told they could leave, while Kieron Evans was primed for a loan away, but no deals could be sanctioned

Daka move to Bournemouth now off

That could explain the Cherries' desire to keep Kieffer.

Patson Daka, the Leicester striker, was primed to seal a move to Bournemouth, but that deal has now fallen through.

Now seems nailed-on Moore will stay with the south coast club.

Annis, when are Bournemouth supposed to hand over our £1m then?

Nice transfer window thanks for the summary as it's was difficult to recall so many moves and my mind became a little foggy last night.

Good window for wonder if it was one our busiests??

I maybe on my own but I wasn't massively keen on Moore"s move .

No, I wasn’t overly keen either. Don’t think he will fit in with the style of football.

Maybe we can get a deal done in January for him if they still owe us a million

Yea. Rather him stay at Bournemouth than go elsewhere. There is always January.

The likes of Rino, Sawyers and Evans may yet have a part to play so don’t mind them still being with us. Hopefully we won’t pick up too many injuries but with our luck I doubt it

I agree with Carpe Diem..
It's a tough season.
We will get Injuries. Left back and upfront are vulnerable positions too.
I'd use full squad for planning ....

No I agree after last time here.
I reckon the gaffer got a free agent lined up personally I would stick with Etete.

I guess our wage bill has gone up, though?

Virtually cost us nothing as not allowed to pay towards bringing them in, We are only paying % of wages and some big names went from their loans to their clubs.

We had a few big earners gone Alsop etc.

Where the wage bill has gone up is management, but we were paying peanuts beyond and you saw what we got for that.

Plus we have had £550,000 towards their wages.

9 in / 14 out.

But now the proof is what happens on the pitch where it matters.

Seeing the ins and outs listed you can't help but notice what a massive upgrade we've had for relatively little cost. I know it matters little unless this is transferred onto the pitch but I will be mightily surprised if after a few more games our level of performance hasn't improved significantly and with it the number of wins we start to register.

Agree its on field that matters because ultimately that's where the window/ dealings / manager etc is going to be fully judged

Exactly what happens on the field is what it’s all about in the end.

That's not true annis coz we can't pay a loan fee our percentage of the wages for the loans will be a lot higher , also we are not allowed to pay signing on fees so the players who we had permanent will be on higher wages too .but we have got rid of a few players too .

£550k!Peanuts especially compared to Jacks receiving £17million! and our wage bill which was the 7th highest in the Championship will be much higher! Hope I’m wrong but still see us as a mid table team which would have been top 6 if we’d signed Moore. Hopefully he’ll join us in January so that we can push on?
Surprised we got rid of Simpson who performed OK in preseason and we are still short at CB yet we kept Campbell despite having two satisfactory right backs?

Yes Annis we’ve got to admit that Tan and Choo have done brilliantly in this window also! ;)

But seriously, your spot on the proof will ultimately be on the pitch as the season progresses.

I’d love more but I’ll be happy with mid table or just above.

So based on all the ins and outs …and I feel we have done very good business…how long will people give it based on results?’
Most seem to give a manager 10 games so Bulut has another 6 games …to get it right on the pitch.
I said on here I was giving him 18 games and I certainly stick to that now

Re: Good Business as £550,000 was brought in / Free Transfer

from my understanding, they were willing to let one striker leave, Swansea came in with a loan for Lowe which involved a fee (small one) so they allowed him to move ahead of Moore. they were happy to sell Moore, regardless of a replacement, but would only loan him out if they had a replacement sorted, but the Daka transfer fell through, so they wouldn't let him leave on loan.

come Jan our embargo ends, a player like Moore, inactive for 5/6 months might see his valuation drop substantially, and if Bournemouth are happy to get him off the books, might be willing to offload on the cheap to us

We were always going to make money on players going out - Unless we gave them away for Free .
Along with the fact - We could not buy anyone  - Good to get some of those players off the wage bill .
