‘ Mehmet Dalman / Erol Bulut ‘

Thu Sep 07, 2023 7:13 am

Erol Bulut has been backed by Dalman his head in taking charge of this summer’s operations. Mehmet hand picked and backed Bulut to the hilt.

Yes - we did not (could not) pay transfer fees …..but neither did the vast majority of our competitors in the Championship.

In fact few of our competitors have lost rather than gained players (eg Swansea , Leeds ….).

I have always said that I will give my opinion about Bulut after 10 to 12 games . I now choose our 11th game at home to Watford on the 7th of October …..( 11 League games / 3 Cup
games / 9 friendlies) since we have an international break after that.

Personally , I have backed Bulut’s appointment and this summer’s transfer program ….and had good expectations …and am still hopeful . I believe that I share this view with many fans.

But …BULUT HAS TO DELIVER !!!!

We have seen some really encouraging signs in the way we are playing and with the performance of quite a few players …..however we have also seen signs that are a cause of concern. Bulut has said :”Goals we are conceding have been unlucky ones”.

Bulut has also been blaming the “players” collectively and individually. Yes we have been unlucky sometimes , but we have also been quite lucky as well. Our maximum points against Wednesday came courtesy of a freak handball . We played a highly depleted Leeds side …..etc….

My feeling (so far) ….early to judge days ….is that our biggest problem “MAY” be with Bulut himself. He does not seem to be read the game well as it is unfolding. This has happened time and time again. Bulut makes substitutions and changes in tactics ….and we lose our lead and drop points .

So Bulut needs to shoulder a big deal of the blame and needs to be honest with himself and with us …..instead of giving “EXCUSES” ….by blaming ‘luck’ and ‘players’. There are only two options : make progress or make excuses. You can have success or you can have excuses ……but you can not have both.

So I tell Bulut :”STOP MAKING EXCUSES !!!”……take personal charge and responsibility . Tan , Dalman and us fans demand and expect you to deliver RESULTS NOT EXCUSES !!!!!

We don’t always agree but I can’t argue with any of that. A sensible post.

For me, Bulut has to sort out his game management.

While I agree that results are important and a yard stick of our progression to get them regularly can still take time and the team will blow hot and cold so we have to give the manager a chance because what is the alternative sack the manager after 10 games because results are not perfect, we tried that last season and it nearly got us relegated. If the club really believes in the manager they should give him time I know this can't be indefinitely but as long as we see improvement overall better performances and better results even if we are mid table that is progression so let's give Erol Bulit at least until Christmas before we start calling for him to be sacked, Rome was not built in a day and neither is a football club. So let's all look forward to beating the Jack's.

10 to 12 games will give us an insight as to maybe where we are compared to last season, but with the amount of new faces in the team I feel it'll take significantly longer for the players to be comfortable with each other completely, and to change to the style that Bulut wants.

I don't see any value in making any changes at that point even if things aren't where we are hoping they will be, take Arteta as a prime example of what can happen should the manager be given significant time to build the team and squad that they want.

Especially as in Jan we can actually go out and pay fees for players, I think this will be a big turning point for the seasons ahead

Bluebirds!

This 2 week break could have come at a good time for our manager to look at what's happened from the start of the season.
