A forum for all things Cardiff City

I listened to an interesting TalkSport section the other day, and it spoke about atmosphere in stadiums.
It got me thinking.
1. Where would you rank our atmosphere against others?
2. What is the best atmosphere you've been in at an away game?
3. Who have been the best away fans at CCS or Ninian Park?
4. Bonus Show boat round: Have you been fortunate to have gone to a Celtic:Rangers? Boca:River? Milan Derby etc?
There were the obvious mentions of Leeds, Newcastle and then scousers saying Liverpool. Crystal Palace had a special mention (I remember when their 'ultras' first appeared and were laughed at, they are getting their props now!)
Thoughts?

Atmosphere at our place whollt depends on the mood of the supporters. We've proved that with the few games that have exceeded the norm (subdued in general)
1. On the whole, I think our atmosphere is avverage at about 5 out of 10
2. Bluebird-wise, I think Newcastle away takes some beating
3. Best away support at the CCS has to include the ManUre supporters; they mixed in so well they felt safe enough to sit amongst us...!
Beyond that, I always enjoy the Pompey support; passionate beyond!
4. Some years ago I was fortunate to be at Goodison Park to watch Everton v Liverpool in the FA Cup in February 1991. Ian Rush and Neville Southall were on opposing teams and the game ended 4 - 4 after Extra Time with Rush scoring the first goal. An incredible atmosphere for a game where I finally appreciated Ian Rush as a player rather than just goal scorer; he was a menace all over the field and took his chance superbly...

I have some good mates who are big Bristol City fans, and were part of the CSF. I went to a City Rovers match and it was Bedlam before during and especially afterwards. The atmosphere in the ground was electric to say the least.

1. Agree with Sven - average, should be better. We seem to have lost some great chants and have some very generic. I blame the drum, may get slaughtered for that!

When it's rocking, I love it. Can't beat it. Especially Men of Harlech!
2. Stoke away always used to be noisy. Delilah would come from absolutely nowhere to full voice. Everton was special, every man, woman and child in Everton gear.
3. Birmingham were very noisy in recent years, without much to sing for.
4. Not lucky enough to have done anything abroad with a decent atmosphere. I managed to watch Pep's Barca w/ Messi, Eto'o, Ronaldihno etc play out a drab 0-0. First one in years at the Camp Nou!

Well, our old ground could be great, especially Grange-end prior to demolition in 1977. This ground, it’s mostly shit. But that’s what they want. That electricity is missing, and it’s sad.

All seater stadiums have killed the atmospheres.
Remember getting arrested at Ibrox, for being drunk and as punishment my Old man made me sit in the main stand next game as punishment. Now we all sit. Some clubs have brought in safe standing areas, not sure if that’s viable at CCS.
