Aaron Ramsey issues injury bulletin after early Wales sub leaves Cardiff City fans sweating ahead of Swansea City clash -

The Wales captain was taken off in the 49th minute of Wales' win over Latvia -

Aaron Ramsey has alleviated Cardiff City fans' fears by stressing that he will be fit to play the South Wales derby against Swansea this weekend.

Ramsey looked to be purring in the 2-0 win over Latvia, scoring a penalty - his 100th career senior goal - but also producing some excellent touches and moments of magic in the middle of the park.

However, just after the half-time break, he signalled to the bench to be replaced and manager Rob Page introduced David Brooks, who scored the second goal in Riga, in the 49th minute.

Asked about the injury, Page said: "We don't know exactly [what it is]. He sprinted off the pitch alright - I wouldn't' be too concerned if I'm honest with you!"

However, Ramsey himself, who has three goals already this season - two for the Bluebirds and one for Wales - seemed confident he would be fine for the derby clash at Cardiff City Stadium.

"It's just a precaution," he said of the injury. "I didn't want to take any chances but I'll be fine for the weekend."

The result in Riga puts Wales level on points with third-placed Armenia in their Euro 2024 qualification group and three points behind second-placed Turkey with three games to go.

Erol Bulut expects Aaron Ramsey to play in Cardiff City's clash with arch rivals Swansea this Saturday after the playmaker gave fans a scare while on international duty with Wales.

Ramsey netted a penalty against Latvia on Monday, a goal which represented his 100th in senior football, but eyebrows were raised when he jogged off after the 49th minute.

"He had stiffness with his adductor, he managed it well with the national team. He came off, he couldn't continue. For now, he looks good," said Bulut.

"Today, he was at training and tomorrow he will be at training also. And Saturday, he will be on the field.

"He changed in the 49th minute against Latvia. I knew about his injury, his stiffness on his adductor. He had it in the games before, when he played. We managed it so he could play.

"But he managed it well with the national team. He went out and now we have managed it - our physios managed it.
"He was on the field today, tomorrow I think he will be with us. Hopefully on the pitch Saturday, too."
