" Erol Bulut understands importance of the derby "

Erol Bulut:

But when someone says derby to me, it means something else. I know what a derby means.

I had a few in my career! 20 years as a professional, seven as a manager. At Fenerbahce, too, I know derbies well.

As a player, and a manager, when you sign for a club and play derbies, you don’t need to get it explained from someone else just how important a derby is. When you sign as a coach, you should know how to handle it and how to go on the field.

I can tell you only one thing - Saturday, in the stadium, on the field, we will be a team. I don’t need to tell them, they know it already.

Fans know better than me. Two weeks ago I was in the city centre I was in a pub with Cardiff fans. So I understood it really well, what the derby means.

The pub was good. A lot of blue shirts around me!

In response to Duff's comments:

I would like to get promoted and win twice! I was told as a manager to always go for the maximum - so we will try to go for this. The first step will be on Saturday.

i hate that, all our managers recently have said the same thing "i dont need to tell them they know already" sort of thing, and everyone we just don't show up, and then it comes out swansea had fans make a video to explain what it means. this is why it means more to their players than ours, because sadly they really don't know what it means.

The alternative would be the manager says "the players have no idea of the importance of this game".

Guessing you would prefer that?

I think we will be far more up for it than recently. Ramsey obviously understands how important it is, as do several other players. They will make that clear to the others.

We also have a manager who has managed and played in Fenerbache v Galatasaray - it doesn't get much more hostile than that.

The manager pointed out that he met some City fans in the pub who reminded him how important the game is, although he already knows that.

This game will show us if we are going in the right direction.

The last 4 games have been shocking. The Jacks have run over us not because they were a far superior side but they have showed a unity amongst themselves where our lot did not.

We now have a chance to start amending all this mainly because the Jacks are struggling with everything. If its the same same come Saturday night then as far as I am concerned the board can get out, simple as that.

I don't think it's all down to 'passion' or 'unity'. We've been terrible as a team for the last two years and we haven't lived with their possession based approach, hate to say it but I think their football has been better than us. I think we have a better squad this season but we must press with intensity for a whole 90 minutes not just in spells. The first goal has to be scored by us for a change too.

Ramsey has come home to play in games like this, there is no way that the team won’t be up for it.
