Cardiff City defender Mark McGuinness believes Swansea City boss was wrong to play down the importance of the South Wales derby.
Before the international break, Swansea boss Duff said he would rather "win promotion and get beat by Cardiff twice", which went down badly among the Swans' supporters.
While there may be some merit in the sentiment, it was an ill-judged thing to say, particularly after the Swans' poor start to the season which has left them in the relegation zone. And McGuinness agrees that Duff's take was misjudged.
"That’s the first time I’ve heard it!" said McGuinness when told about Duff's comments. "I think he is wrong in that sense. This game is important for everyone.
