In Cardiff mixed I'd say.. this varies between largely ignored, some doing 20mph, some doing 15mph.

I intend to ignore it unless I see mobile police units, fixed cameras or am stuck behind someone petrified of breaking rules!

WAG are total f*kwits. Wales yet again a laughing stock and being run like a tinpot dictatorship.

Don't forget people who have black box fitted my son drives my car so I've got to drive bang on the speed limit ,it monitors everything, the thing is it's so easy to go up to 30mph before you notice,10mph over how many points and fine will that get you.

My motor is ancient - probably almost as old as Fred Flinstones vehicle. So relatively low tech compared to modern super computer controlled vehicles packed with tech and insurance trackers etc

I live in Thornhill. In the eyes of the policy makers I should be the target demographic to like this. I cycle to work. Try and cycle when I can. I do it for fitness reasons mostly.

Cycling to work today meant I had to stop a few times to let the long snaking lines of cars move on further so I could actually breathe some clean air in. Not sure if that will change In time. But I found previously cars found their own level and moved along reasonably well. Jam’s obviously an issue but I can get past those on my bike rather than having them just slightly ahead of me constantly.

Needless to say. This change is going to take a lot of convincing for me to be on board with it.

I don’t see how it will make it safer for me as the important bit isn’t speed but how much space I’m afforded. In fact I almost got knocked off by a car crawling along a street this morning.

This idiotic change is going to cost me more in fuel. Driving a lot more now in 2nd gear to stay 20 or under.

Re: 20mph

Mon Sep 18, 2023 6:39 pm

Statistically it's show to save 0.003 lives. That's 9 in a year!

A lot more will be lost due to ambulance delays, etc.

As for pollution... driving around in second gear as above!

Watters keeps changing why he introduced his policy
is it to save money in the nhs, or to save lives, or save the planet.
More people will suffer ill health because more fumes are been pushed out in built up areas where people are because of lower gears need using revving the engine more so more people will die prematurely

And this does nothing for the planet
then he says 6 lives a year will be saved by this policy but says nothing about how many people are dying in wales prematurely waiting for a lack of ambulances
And he says scotland and ireland are all for it
Wrong they did tbere survey and decided against introduction

And when dripford he replies that there is no money for poor kids to have meals during the school hols
well no wonder
And when on about saving money
they should scrap the new tram to the senedd costing 50 million for the suits to get to and from the city to the bay
And rd signs 32 million.
Airport 50 million.

Poor Watters, even after leaving us he's still getting blamed for stuff. :D

WELSHMSN IN CA

it seems both watters
are usless
shocking to think he could have been our only main striker back then
and been totally frank
we have still not sorted a main striker with a knack of banging in goals regular.

Along with the £33 Million they have spent on this - Which could have been spent on the Hospital Service-
Which is run by The Minister - Eluned Morgan who was banned from driving last year for 6 months and fined .
This was her 4th Speeding offence since Sept 2019 - Sort out your own " In House Problems " - First FM

Over a quarter of a million now.

Some areas/constituencies are over 10% of the number of voters. Loads are in the 5-10% range.

Keep signing and telling others about it. This could be the straw we need to break the turtle's neck.

Do you actually think they will reverse this decision?
Absolutely no chance.

The time for this was when it was first announced.

Probably not as he's a stubborn muppet.

More worrying is the stuff that has been 'sneaked' out and actually been noticed over the last few days - covered by the 20mph thing...

36 extra MS's at a cost of £18m+ - pretty much in the open.

Automatic voter registration - kinda snook out. Some might argue thats a good thing, but its the implementation that should concern folk - accessing your medical/DVLA/local government records to do this - surely there's some GDPR breach right there if you haven't given your permission for data sharing across organisations.

Sadly the whole of wales could sign and demonstrate against but the dictator dickford is a vile old man who
will never listen to people

He got in by a vote that only 36% of wales voted sadly 64% didnt vote the only way we can get rid of this dictator is by voting him out.

I have been labour all my life but will not be voting Labour as we will end up with the welsh lot who lost millions because they didnt spend it we have an airport that is a joke and this 20 mile an hour is over the top and our NHS who I work for is just as bad or worse than England.

Yep. And it winds me up when he keeps blaming other people for things under his care.

I wonder who he will blame when Labour win the next GE? The Westminster blame game will be over then.
