Cardiff City have an option to extend his contract for another season, so he can’t just leave :bluebird: :bluebird:

One that a few still need to hold their hands up and admit they were wrong about!

I know you have already Annis in fairness

Need to take a look at this one over the coming months - That goal on Saturday will attract attention from clubs .

Tbf now everything has settled from the scenes on Saturday, tanner has done well but he does need to now show consistency and be managed properly, but I have faith in bulut

Agree - Time will tell over the next few months But we can't be giving players away for nothing unless there is an issue .
We were on the wrong end of a wonder goal when we signed Josh Murphy ( that's the example to clubs seeing from Sat ) .
Good Luck to the Lad - Let's hope we get that consistency / Looks like we have the manager to get the best out of him .

Yeah well there will be no offers till January regardless so we have till then to see whats going on, but I'd be shocked if he didn't get offered a revised contract between now and then

He definitely has potential.

I'll admit that I was one of those that had written him off and thought he'd leave on loan again, even when he was doing well in pre-season. I wouldn't say I'm completely wrong yet.

He has had a few good games this season but also at times has struggled.

Like I say, he has potential and his moment on Saturday night was brilliant. For a start, every City fan will remember that. He also did well to win the penalty.

Bulut made the decision to keep Tanner and it has to be said he was right about that.

But, as others have said, he now needs to find some consistency.

Remember that was his first goal for us. York fans on social media who were watching on TV couldn't believe that it was the same player they had on loan last season.

Whether he starts or comes off the bench against Coventry, hopefully he does well.

Bulut said he sees him more of an impact substitute than someone who starts at the moment.

If he finds the consistency and continues to put in performances like that then I will happily say I was completely wrong.

I do think that the contract extension will be triggered before January when he can start talking to other clubs, or a new deal will be agreed. To be fair to the club, they've been very good on the contract situation this summer.

People should remember he’s only just past his 21st birthday and he’s never played anywhere near this level before joining us.

He’s got the skills, that’s always been plain to see, but consistency comes with age and experience especially when your position is on the wing.

Many fickle and impatient fans on here.

Oh 100% ,I don't think anyone wants to see the lad fail though. I even started a thread singing his praises. But some realistic, balanced thought is needed, yes he's a great impact player and he's been working so hard.
But for his own sake, he doesn't need the pressure of us expecting that level from him consistently, because he's not shown that before.
So the natural next questions are "can he do it consistently over 45 mins", "can he do it over 70 mins" " can he become a starter"
I guess these are his progressional steps.

Not setting him up to fail but allowing him to mess up and get it wrong, yes his impact Saturday instantly makes him become a legend, but back down to earth now and consistency/performances between now and January will give us a better idea.

Shown some great potential and as others have said need to see it more regular basis when starting

Surely the lad has justified a start now, It would be nice to have that attacking threat down both flanks instead of 90% down the left, With Bowler been out injured Ugbo just hasn't been a threat on the right at all.
