Well Ollie Tanner proved me wrong and I am very happy to admit it

Ollie has pace, goes forward, attacks , runs at other players, has skill and a heart.
Plus Ollie is everywhere.
So pleased to be proved wrong.
So Steve Morison did gets us a gem.

Here we go
About 50 bad signings
But this was a Steve Morison’s as I know a couple of the managers in that league and they also never rated Ollie.
The Transfer Committee do have the final say and but they’ve had so many wrong.
The Committee thankfully have disbanded thanks to Dalman.

I think there are many City fans who are eating humble pie about Tanner, I am one too.
He's an old fashioned winger with pace and power.
That goal against the Jacks has risen expectations hugely but it is important to still be patient. It's his first real season at this level so there will be ups and downs. Morison did spot a gem here and maybe Kion Etete has potential too. But generally the squad he assembled was utterly terrible with dead wood that will take another year to get rid of.

Yep, totally agree I am more than happy to admit the guy has proved me wrong as well
But let’s not get carried away he’s not really proven himself just yet, potentially yes he looks very promising but it’s still way too early to judge how good he is
Better to judge him at the end of the season, but good luck to the guy he’s certainly started this season with a bang and long May it continue

Another bluebird down my way. I’m living in landford , noticed a few city fans down here.

Me too Annis. I remember watching an early U21 game and thinking he was way off. It looked like he had the first touch of an amateur, and you could tell he hadn’t come through at a pro club. What a transformation!

Yes I really did not think he was good enough for the League, never mind Championship.
I think we can thank Erol Bulut for believing and seeing in him and working on him.
Morison for discovering.

Very true.
As to Etete the Jury is totally out with me.
But let’s be honest for years now we have brought in so many failures.
It’s great to see one player really proving us wrong.

Tanner has been excellent of late, has changed games for us. He deserves a new contract but I hope we don't throw money at him.
This turnaround in performances is only based on 7 games, he's got to do it consistently for a whole season to warrant getting a proper championship wage. We could easily sign him up now for 3 years and, if we get that consistency, sit down with him and talk big bucks in 12 months time.
The club seem to have their head screwed on now so I think they'll be sensible with it.
Reckon Bulut will be perfect for Tanner in that he'll always demand more and will help to keep his feet on the floor. So many young players get ahead of themselves when things click and think they'll become superstars overnight. I hope Tanner isn't one of these and Bulut will keep this in check I think.
Tanner has so much potential though, he's beating championship standard full backs with ease. He could be great if he keeps working hard!

Etete could be the next keiffer moore if bulut keeps working on him with some intensity
but i did think tanner could do it watched him against villa then lokked poor under hudson
its all about confidence and the right manager look how warnock could draw the best out in a player with belief.

Is there any news on his injury as his knee was strapped up after the Covid game?
Sat Sep 23, 2023 12:23 pm
Fair play, I also completely wrote him off but he's doing very well.
That goal he scored could really get him going with us, played well against Coventry too.
Needs to show it on a consistent basis, but very promising.
Bulut and his coaches have improved several players in our squad, Tanner is one of them.

Bulut said in his pre-Sunderland press conference that he has no new injuries.
So it's just O'Dowda and Bowler still, O'Dowda was back running in training this week. Sunderland will be too soon for him though.

Cheers Ned, that's good news. Shame about O'Dowda though as he's been superb and I've quite like what we've seen of Bowler so far.

Hopefully, he will live up to the billing of being scouted by a premier club and be a hell of an asset.
He has been great though recently. He does bring a flair and excitement when given space. Good stuff.
