Erol Bulut : I've had to change my methods at Cardiff

Erol Bulut has revealed he has had to alter his coaching methods at Cardiff because the fixture schedule is so demanding on the players' bodies. Bulut has extensive coaching experience of coaching in Turkey, but Cardiff is his first foray outside of continental Europe.

Given the arduous nature of Cardiff's fixture schedule, often seeing teams play midweek and on the weekend, he has had to learn to manage the players' loads, such as taking Aaron Ramsey out of the fray for the win over Coventry City.

Speaking about adjusting to life in the Bluebirds dugout, he said:

EROL BULUT:

"Every country has different training sessions and types of training. When I came here, I learned also that it’s a bit different, so I had to change. I was in a different mentality to train, from Germany and Turkey.

"Here it’s a little bit different. I try to keep the balance between this and we try to protect our players. Every player needs rest, so we have to give them rest to have them at 100 percent in the game. Here it’s like when you load and rest players. It’s a different schedule than Turkey during the week. Here, every three days you have games, so the players are prepared to train, rest, play, rest.

"In Europe it’s different, so maybe that’s why Aaron Ramsey had problems in Italy. Here it is different, they take care of the body to control everything. My teams in Turkey were pushing much more differently than here. Different types of training sessions. So we have had to adapt as well. We have to listen to the players."
