That was smash and grab, but an utterly heroic defence effort… Without a doubt the best win of the last three. Incredible

Perfect tactics against a strong team. But our lads are showing that they can mix and match what they need to do. Disciplined and organised. Alnwick superb in goal. But despite the pressure none of them looked pressured or harassed.

I had a feeling we could come away with something if we addressed the soft goals and game management as we could have taken points away from Leeds, Leicester and Ipswich,and fair play to Bulut and the boys, we look like we've done just that.

A great squad performance and use of subs by Bulut and we fought to the end and could have bagged another. Happy Days.

Proper smash and grab. Sunderland were the better team but City were dogged and well organised. First 3 wins in a row for quite some time. Bulut train is now flying!

That's a big 3 points no doubt about that.

What a result, massive win, keep it up City.

I thought befoee kick off a point and I'd be buzzing. That was backs to the wall alot of the game but we got what we went up for. Smash and grab. Brilliant

The defence and keeper were incredible today. Rode some luck but Sunderland never created clear cut chances. In fact at end on counter we should have had more.

Another great win without rambo....he needs miss the Cup game Tues as its not important. He can tear Rotherham apart fully fit

should of scored 3 more - happy camp - results that count onwards and upwards

Let’s face it we were outplayed for most of the game ,but we now have a more players who put their bodies on the line and dig in.
That was an excellent win against a team that have been used to winning over the last few years.
Smash and grab it may have been and it could have ended 3-0

We would have lost 5-0 last season. Cracking 3 points. We go again!

Sunderland are a very dangerous pacey team and we stood firm against them superbly. Alnwick is in great form at the moment.
Only negative is that Ugbo is struggling at the moment. Time to give him a rest as Etete was excellent when he came on and holds the ball up so much better.

I also agree; this was an ugly win but we got it due to Erol Bulut's tactics and a battling, resolute team performance...

I'd have settled for a draw but a win has made my footballing week complete...!
