A forum for all things Cardiff City

Callum Robinson's start to the season has been curious. He suffered a back injury while on pre-season in Portugal and despite being named in match-day squads, has been used sparingly.
Clearly he is not right up to full fitness just yet, but one suspects he will be given a chance to start at Ewood Park if he is fit. After all, this was a player who was crucial to Cardiff lifting themselves out of their slump last season and supporters expected him to play a big part in this campaign.
Really, he should be challenging for four positions — striker, No.10, right wing and left wing — and arguably at full fitness he should be starting in one of those roles. The Bluebirds signed him as a striker option, in lieu of anyone else, really, last summer, and he rewarded them with a decent goal haul. Where does Bulut see him? Well, this is an opportunity for us to find out.
Robinson is a player with quality and pedigree in the Championship and Cardiff will need him throughout the course of the season. City supporters want to see his campaign get up and running in earnest with his first start of the season at Ewood Park and, if fit, there is no reason why he won't be on the team sheet.

Thought him Robinson where going to be reunited with grant as a dream pairing as they where at w.b.a.

Hopefully because our squad is a stronger force up front this season , the manager is able to give him more time to recover without the need to play him if not required. It is a long season and he will certainly be required in months to come

Maybe the manager doesn't rate him at the moment but I'm sure he'll get a chance & then it's up to him.

So did I as they linked up well at WBA. Grants goals at WBA dried up when Robinson left.

hoping when he gets back to fitness, if he's not starting he's the impact sub we use rather than Etete, find Robinson closes down really well, pressures the back 4 and doesn't stop running. brilliant finisher, and i think he'd probably be a bit more deadly than Ugbo,

From what I've seen from Robinson last season and Ugbo this, Robinson is the superior forward hands down.
If he's fit, he needs to play more than he does currently.

Only from what I see but he seems to be enjoying life here, he is always one of the first to jump in with the (numerous) goal celebrations and laps of honours.
We don't need to rush him, its a long long season and he appears a little fragile, but a great player. Not a back to goal striker as none of them are, so we still need a 9.
Etete still not a championship starter in my books, but showing signs of improvement.

Thought the same and will happen soon - even if they had some time to date .
