" One player tonight "

Wed Sep 27, 2023 9:11 pm

In tonight's team that were thrashed by Blackburn, we had only one player who has started any of our last three league games - that was Ollie Tanner who started one of those games.

Of the eleven, Runarsson, Adams and Romeo were the only other ones who had started a league game all season - Adams started two, the other two had each only started one game.

All four of our substitutes hadn't played at all in the league, because they were all teenagers.

Yes it's disappointing for us to go out and that fringe players didn't take their chance tonight.

But important to remember that this was nowhere near our first team.

Also positive to have Robinson get more minutes and a great goal. Another well taken goal for Etete as well.

Blackburn, by the way, had three players who had started at the weekend. Six of the starting 11 had started at least one league game this season. Four of their five substitutes have played in the league this season.

Tonight's side has no resemblance to our first team. We were playing with a full back and a midfielder in defence. Panzo was disappointing tonight but hardly fair to judge him in that set up. I take the positives of more game time for the younger players and more minutes for Robinson getting back to his best. Etete was great first half.

The squad and bench showed us we didn't want this enough....players playing out of position and others who are clearly not in plans. As long as we beat Rotherham its all good. I am expecting a win but this is the championship probably lose 3 nil

It's a shame really. Cos Blackburn werent anything special.

We all knew the kind of team he'd name. But I can't help but think a bit more balance, i.e. the formation we play in the league would've helped!

A couple of players did well and will be in contention for Saturday some of the youngsters had a taste of the first team which is always a bonus and a few others did nothing and will be leaving in January

Exactly some have been over reacting when no need. If we had put a full team out and won but had 3 or 4 knocks or injuries that would of been ripped a new arse. So Saturday Rotherham home let's get 3 points. Im away but my mate who sits by me got my ST so hopefully he brings someone and fill the place as best we can
