Vote your Man of the Match versus Rotherham United...

A grwat win to take us four-in-a-row and 6th place in the table...

Some strong pergormances out there today. Ollie Tanner again proved his worth to the team but I'm going for Kion Etete and his all round performance up front and at the back...

SCORE: CARDIFF CITY 2 - 0 ROTHERHAM UNITED
Bluebird scorer: Kion Etete, 56 mins; Perry Ng, 89 mins[/quote]

Etete for me. His hold up play was excellent today. He’s clearly been working on it as it’s so much better.

Either Tanner or Ng for me but went for Ng in the end for scoring & the slap he got away with.

Thought Tanner, McGuiness and Ralls were great today but I never thought I'd be typing this, I've gone for Etete. I thought his hold up play was great, some of his little touches and passes were fantastic and he took his goal very well holding the defender off to get his head to the ball. Well done Etete

Never thought I'd be voting for Kion for a season or two but that was hell of a performance for a really young target man

Grant was great second half again and got a good assist.

Ralls, Ng and McGuinness were all also very good.

But that was one of Etete's best games for us, he gets my vote for I think the first time ever!

Long may it continue :bluebird:

I've seen some stuff posted on here but this is up there

He couldn't even lace Jay's boots up imo.

Etete's best game in a City shirt.

He has improved his all round game 100%

I was saying to my son Etete is starting to hold the ball up now. If he carries on like this he will be great. First time I’ve noticed the Canton chant his name too

The woman who was covering the city game on soccer Saturday seemed very impressed with Siopis.
Do people just select goal scorers or was Etete that good?
Honest question.

I’m becoming Siopis biggest fan. He seems to have a great game every match but Etete’s all round play today was excellent.

Etete gets my vote.

If Etete hadn’t scored the goal I might have voted someone else. Possibly Siopis or Tanner. But the goal coupled with the threat he posed the Rotherham defenders and his improving hold up play won my vote. And all around me people were commenting on him so they seemed impressed too.
Siopis is awesome every game and covers a lot of ground quickly. And mostly makes some great passes. He’s a real pain to the opposition. He doesn’t stop.

There is a type of handicap system we (I) use.

Ramsey and Siopis are our best players by a country mile. 9 out of 10 times either of these should be MoM

Ralls, NG & NcGuiness are proper pro's, they, especially Joe run through brick walls and get hurt for this team. Ralls was outstanding yesterday, Perry gave the ball away but doesn't ever drop his head and got a gaol, McGuiness won every duel, but i kind of expect that of those

Collins and Tanner get you off your seat, Grant is a very effective Championship operator in the inside left position and Wintle is understated.

When we knick a win away its normally due to the keeper making some decent saves, then they get it.

Yesterday Kion had a breakout game, most of us think the center-forward position is a very weak spot for us, but his performance was almost what i'd expect from a championship "9" and it made a massive difference.

On another day Goutas kept a proven championship "9" very quiet, but I thought everything good came down the left thanks to Ralls winning everything, he does that more times than he ever gets credit (on here) for so he was the best player even though I voted for Etete

Totally agree, Ralls was great, but I gave my vote to Etete because the improvement he has shown in the last couple of matches turning into a number 9 at last.
would be good if we could mark them all with the points they earned on the day though.

Etete had a great game yesterday. Best I’ve seen from him. He outmuscled their defenders time and again. Won and held up a lot of ball and wouldn’t be pushed offline to score the header. Voted for him as he worked hard the whole game and scored. Rallsy was a very close 2nd. Thought he was best player by a mile in 1st half. Siopsis probably had his poorest game yesterday, 1st touch and passing wasn’t what we’ve seen of him. But we’re all entitled to an off day. I think, overall, he could be seen to be the best signing this summer.

Yes, I agree; a pretty good post from Ilan bluebird...

Kion Etete worked his butt off yesterday, ran everywhere, got involved in tackles, played some great stuff, had a number of defensive interventions inside our box (one of which stopped Rotherham's best opportunity to that point) and he scored tgat vital opening goal...

For those who believe (quote) "the goal scorer always gets the award", I suggest they trawl back through the Man of the 'Match' wards to date, will see that is pretty much not the case. The majority of our members are a lot more knowledgeable than they might be given credit for by some and know whem a player (or players) have had a good game regardless of the result...! :ayatollah:

Spot on Chris, I think Siopis has won it at least twice.

Alnwick has won multiple times.

I think Collins and McGuinness have also done well in the voting, in games where they haven't scored.

Etete, as you say, put in an all-round good performance. Arguably his best game for us, his hold up play was excellent.
