Who would we miss most...?

Sat Sep 30, 2023 8:02 pm

We've proved we can cope without Ramsey, even though his absence is a blow.

I really do feel though that during Ramseys absence, if we were also to lose Siopis, injury or ban, that would hurt us far more.

The guys motor, and ability to move play forward is vital. Today wasnt his best game, but you could still see his importance to the team.

He switches play, breaks up play, turns and moves forward, first up to support the counter, first back to break up an attack.

We're not a one man team, but I would rather lose Ramsey than Siopis.

Might be losing Meite with his leg, Collins looked uncomfortable and I saw an image of Siopis with his thigh bandaged up at full time after coming off yesterday

Ramsey oozes quality and rightly lifts the squad. But. While not at his level. We do have players that can do a role at championship level in his position that are championship players.

Siopis no. He is probably irreplaceable with his ability and role.

Wide players depends on who stays injured!

Of any player in our squad, we would miss Siopis the most without a doubt.

Ramsey is obviously top drawer. He has the quality and experience. But he is a luxury player and we can get do without him.

Siopis is the midfielder we've needed for years. He wasn't at his best on Saturday but was still a lot better than the midfield we've had to put up with for the last few years.

Without him, our midfield would look considerably weaker.

Other crucial players I would say are Ng, McGuinness and Collins.

Yes we have alternatives in those positions but when these players play, we play a lot better.

You could even include Alnwick in the list, as he's had a strong start to the season.

But without doubt, Siopis is at the top of that list.

Jonny, Manolis Siopis has impressed me hugely since he arrived and I already see him challenging for 'Player of the Season'

You are correct that Saturday wasn't his best; but he was still good enough to play a big part in another win for our beloved Bluebirds...

Even more to come, I feel; and any length of time out would impact us considerably. Let's hope it does nay happen...! :ayatollah:
