‘ Incredible ‘

Sun Oct 01, 2023 8:49 am

Vincent Tan takes us to one our worst seasons for many years and some of the worst football for 30 years, We in the last few years have the worst runs in our 120 year history we were going only one way down if it had continued .

Chairman Dalman says he had lost all interest and said move over Tan, you know nothing about football

Dalman takes charge and lends us £30mins and puts Erol Bulut in charge :bluebird:

Football improves beyond and we go in to a play off place.

Early days, but looking good.

Andrew, Def we should and then Worzels 27,000 plus.

So far Erol Bulut is delivering and good football, all without real money.

Ian,

I had my doubts, big doubts, but I said from day one 12 games and I will say my view.

I fully agree with the positivity, the buzz is excellent. The football is great, we have recruited the best in YEARS and have a strong squad. Also, it feels great that we are securing contracts more efficiently. It just feels better.

BUT... elephant in the room for me is still the debt. What was the last figure? £250Mill odd? Then we're borrowing 30 more? I'd agree it's probably neccessary, but I'd love to hear a "XX year plan to reduce/eliminate the debt". There seems to be a conveyor belt of clubs going into the points deduction state, and I fear we may be in that que? Or am I way off??

I’ve always thought Dalman is a good football person but can only play with with the hand your dealt.

No one really knows what had changed this season but Dalmans been handed a better hand and we are all benefiting from it..

It's going well but I still think it's too early to give EB and his methods full judgment. We've just got out of September and been on a decent run.

First half yesterday was a pretty dire affair. We looked quite pedestrian at times against a very limited Millers team.

If Meite wasn't injured we wouldn't have seen OT until the 65th minute probably. Tanner was far more of a threat.

I thought our midfield 3 did not carry enough creativity - all too similar. We're up against Rotherham at home - why not give Robinson and/or Colwill an opportunity in a game like this!?

I do think at times EB is too conservative in the way the approaches some games.

Grant had a crap first half but improved. Pleased Etete got on the scoresheet - he looks a better front player this season.

My worry is the injuries piling up. When are we going to see O'Dowda and Bowler back in contention?
Meite seems injury prone.

Just don't want to get carried away. Probs because last season sacked the life out of me!

The debt is 120 million mostly to tan ,75% of it in fact he has bought around 30 million more shares since the last account to pay off the sala transfer tho be interesting tobsee this sessons accounts as there is no new charges other than the tan charges at companies House.

DALMANS LAST INTERVIEW HMMMMM

We gave a presentation to [owner] Vincent Tan about wanting to shift from quantity to quality," said Dalman.

"Six players so far but, in going for the quality, the cost base has not gone up tremendously because players have left and others will be going as well. We have an absolute determination to balance the books.

"At least three or four will be leaving, we have also sent talented youngsters out on loan. We want them to get 30-35 games behind them and come back better players.

"Since I've been here as chairman this is the best window I've been involved in. The main difference is that previous managers knew who they wanted position-wise, went to agents in the market to see who's available, take them or not.

"The difference this time is [manager] Erol Bulut has a certain style of football and asked us who the best talents were to suit that. We went after them. Some we were told were not available very quickly, some were interested.

"Remember over the last two years this cub has fought against relegation, so it hasn't been the easiest of [sales] pitches this summer. We had to go out and sell a dream and that's been the difference."

Cardiff have only been able to add to their squad with free transfers and loans this summer because of a three-window transfer embargo which means they cannot pay fees for players.

That embargo, which will be lifted in January 2024, was imposed by Fifa because of Cardiff's refusal to pay the first instalment of the transfer fee they had agreed with FC Nantes for Emiliano Sala.

Cardiff have since paid Nantes the transfer balance for Sala, who died in a plane crash in 2019 before he could play for the Welsh side.

"The club is 100% reliant financially on Vincent [Tan]," Dalman said.

"He's paid the bill for Sala, £18m - that's come from his own pocket. That hurt. Legal action is still going on."

We had nearly 20k home fans yesterday, which is higher than average for this season but there’s still 5 or 6k not coming regularly. Winning at Boro won’t be easy but we should be getting 25k especially if we’re in play off contention.

But if we win at Boro, it’s time for the armchair and glory hunters to come out early this season.

Brilliant run of games we're on and great to see.

I saw good signs from the Leeds, Leicester and Ipswich games, even though we only got one point from them. Said the results would come and now we're starting to see that.

The way we operated in the transfer window definitely seemed different and better to previous year.

I think Bulut and Dalman did a great job, especially considering we couldn't spend fees.

Bulut is continuing to do a good job with the squad.

I still think it's a tough ask to finish in the top six without significant signings in January, but if we're around the top half at Christmas then you never know in this league. I did say in pre season that a top half finish would be great progress after the last two seasons.

But very happy with how we are doing right now :bluebird:

Is the 120M inclusive of this seasons 30M?

BUT... elephant in the room for me is still the debt. What was the last figure? £250Mill odd? Then we're borrowing 30 more? I'd agree it's probably neccessary, but I'd love to hear a "XX year plan to reduce/eliminate the debt". It will all depend on if any debt to equity happens also if the sala money is 100% paid by the shares issue not adding to the debt we will only know in next year's accounts .

We all know tan hasn’t a clue about football or mangers to employ, but I appreciate how much money he has spent on the club and all the legal shit so thanks , and now dalman has took over the important decisions and it’s paying off with change of success we having , let’s hope it continues and some good signings in January . I think we will be premier leugue in a year or 2 .

I'm with Wez on this. Dalman the Messiah?! Some people were referring to him as the car salesman a few months ago. I remember when Ole was his first choice for manager. How did that go? Let's just enjoy it without running anybody down.

Chairman Dalman says he had lost all interest and said move over Tan, you know nothing about football

Dalman takes charge and lends us £30mins and puts Erol Bulut in charge :bluebird:

Football improves beyond and we go in to a play off place.

Early days, but looking good.
that not true annis, dalman lent us most of the money in 2018 the premiership season read the accountsTan put over 30 million in to cardiff in the last 12 months paying off the sala transfer in two parts and the 12 milliodone this by taking up the shares he created, you can try and down tan all you like the fact is hes keeping the club runningdalman didn't lend us the money in the last 12 months ,tan diddalman also confirmed in his last interview that Tan is more engaged than ever and is happy with this sesson . Only you with your tan vendetta would Try and put a downer on current eventsenjoy this season without the constant trying to divide the fans with posts like this , the club most fans including all the board that incudes dalman and tan are pulling in the right direction this sesson which is great . On and off the pitch the club is in a great place and that's not just down to dalman it's all of the board and transfer committee menbers . You can't have it all ways if it's bad it's tan if it's good it's dalman it doesn't work like that .City as one atm remember that ! .

The facts are there Wez,

The club had shit manager after shit.
:

Dalman said he had lost total interest

Dalman took the mick out of Tan and rightly so.

Dalman is running the now not so circus m.

We are finally heading more in the right direction.

BLUEBIRDS :bluebird:

BE POSITIVE

The facts are that the club including TandalmanBorley and all the committee are moving in the same direction , over the last 10 years dalman has been our chairman hes dropped some clangers too but i think he and the rest of the board are learning this season proves that , just hope you can be a bit more positive and not put posts like this up , you knew what you were doing when you wrote this time now to put your vendetta aside and pull like the rest of us in the same direction? . The blues are going up .

JUST BE POSITIVE Wez,

Tan was clueless just look at all his recent managers.

It’s not a coincidence that Dalman takes command and we have improved beyond

You never know Dalman and Erol Bulut could just take up.

Still early days, but let’s be grateful and thankful Dalman took control.

BLUEBIRDS BLUEBIRDS

See you down the City this month.

BLUEBIRDS BLUEBIRDS

THE MIGHTY BLUEBIRDS

I am postive can't you see you started this topic having a go at tan off that's not postive .

That's what this thread is all about.

Tan has been bad for us. Now Dalman has stepped up to the mark things are improving. Saying that they could not get much worse could they. Hopefully though things will continue to improve.....hopefully Tan will stay out of the way.

Dalman has been poor for years finally yes hes using tans money more wisely to say tan has been bad is way off the mark ? New facilities, Premiership x2 cup final x1 , most successful period in my life time and probably yours too .

I do not consider the 5 seasons as the best. We have gone backwards and we know why and its called going cheap.
