Suella Braverman Speech

Tue Oct 03, 2023 3:49 pm

Wow, that was powerful . Why would anybody vote Labour after that.

Tories not perfect by a long shot. But this speech really had spirit and called out the privileged socialists out there in those Ivory Towers. Also strong message to the Woke nonsense in modern lives as well

Fair play best MP’s speech for a long time, now action please

Re: Suella Braverman Speech

Don't normally get involved with these topics on here anymore. There are a lot more Tories on here than Labour so I'm outnumbered.

But I completely disagree, but each to their own.

I thought it was another shameful and divisive speech.

Let's not forget that with all the illegal migration, it's been her party in power.

Seemed to suggest it's Labour's fault that her government fails to deport criminals which is baffling. In 2010, Labour deported 5,383 criminals. In 2022, the Tories deported just 3,141.

Criticised the human rights act. That act was largely to do with a Tory PM, Winston Churchill. I'm guessing he's "woke" now?

She says the country would have more inclusion if Starmer was PM? Well that sounds good to me.

I noticed the heckler who was removed (so much for free speech!) was actually a Tory member of the London Assembly.

I could go on and say a lot of the things she said weren't actually true, but that's nothing new with the current government and particularly her.

You ask the question who will vote Labour, my answer would be quite a lot of people. Certainly more than will vote Tory. I look forward to next autumn when they are kicked out of government.

Worcester

Sorry but harping back to labour 2010 is a waste of time
Things have moved on a tad since then there are troubles in africa tribel wars, Boca Hiram, isis russia and china stirring the pot
i don't think the yanks are there causing trouble
Also
there where no illegal boats on this scale back in 2010 and everything the tories try to do to stop it

labour block everything they try to do
and never say how many they would let into the country
if dripford khan and starmer are the future
God help us.

All Politicians talk a good game but rarely deliver on their manifesto. Purley talk to gain votes imo. Please prove me wrong and sort this country out as the list of problems is endless.

Dog whistle politics with an eye on next year's tory bloodbath after they lose the election.

The members love her and Truss but that amounts to around 170K, and you need around 14,000,000 to win a general election.

Those who love her speech are voting Tory or Reform anyway.

This is a goading exercise to smoke out labour, but all these boats are on HER watch.......

I am a centre right voter but won't be voting Tory, not because of the politics, just they are tired, spent and need replacing

I'd choose Starmer and Khan over Sunak and Hall every day of the week.

How do Labour block everything they try to do when they have a majority

She might have well quoted the " rivers of blood " speech.
All positioning themselves for the top job when Sunak gets booted out.

Interesting how the Tory party has been infiltrated
by immigrants. Hardly a white face amongst them.
It's a f*cking clever ploy.
No mention of the NHS, Doctors on strike in England.
They don't give a f**k, they all have privste health insurance.
Mortgage gone through the roof.
Bad luck dirty white boy.

Plus, they are buying up houses in the inner cities and, charging a fortune for sub standard accommodation.. My mother in law recently passed away Who turned up to buy the furniture which wasn't the best. Sunak and Bravermans crew. They said it was perfect for their tenants

How has freedom of speech returned when they threw out the heckler, who is a Tory member of the London Assembly?

Re: Suella Braverman Speech

I've not heard the speech but unfortunately the Conservatives are all talk on immigration. I'm pretty sure Cameron stood on a manifesto that pledged to reduce immigration to the 10s of thousands. We now have record levels. Immigration not only needs to be reduced, it needs to be reversed, the levels are crazy. The British public were never asked & we need a referendum on such a big issue.

I'm in favour of free speech but that doesn't extend to sqawking all over someone's speech at a conference. The heckler was rightly removed.

I believe by the next election..a majority of people in england will be afraid of Keir starmer.. Wales of course is different..it will always be labour unless a new party suddenly comes to the fore..maybe reform..it's not that labour are popular in wales,it's just they won't vote Tory..so they either don't vote at all or split between the rest..

Annis mate, don't get me wrong here but I'm ith Ned, they are blaming everyone else for the state of Britain but its under 13 years of their anti poor people that has put us here.
Starmer? I just can't get past a Sir as a Labour leader.
Greens? Daft as brushes.
Liv dems? Will make progress but not much under the wet blanket that is Davy.
We desperately need a new proper SOCIALIST PARTY.
ps. Tories are nothing but parasites.

All parties are parasites.

I just feel they sleep in the same bed with the same agendas. I will not be voting for any of them.

My MP is the guy that got kicked out of the Tory party because he spoke out against Covid. He will be getting my vote. I consider myself luck I will be able to use it. I would advise anyone not to vote for the main 3 as they are a joke.

Whilst the Tory’s are not great - not voting for them keeps Drakeford etc in again. And he has destroyed the economy in Wales, the NHS, no road building, town centres empty and in poor state, train services a joke, 20 mph etc. still let’s give handouts who don’t want to work and stay home. Most people in wales vote labour. Why? Because my dad, grandfather and his father did etc. Great reason eh.

I'd say it's more of a simplified list of what Labour have achieved recently in Wales. Unless anyone can provide a similar list of successes?!

The point is stickywicket it doesn’t matter if the Tory’s don’t get in. Labour in Wales will still be in charge under Drakeford who when things go wrong his default is to blame the UK Government but it is him and his cronies who want to be in charge and therefore the mistakes can only be made by him and Plaid who are absolutely useless. Still another 32 members of the Senedd at the cost of millions will cement his power further. Maybe the deputy who brought in the 20 mph will get a deputy himself because they are so overworked - not. And what happened to the agreement that every household would be given a tree to help the environment. Where’s mine? Have you had yours? Value for money - mmmm

I got my tree but agree with everything else you say. Devolution is a failed experiment to settle the natives, nothing but a waste of money.
