Tanner 'buzzing' with new deal
Cardiff City’s Ollie Tanner says he is "buzzing" after signing fresh terms with the club. The winger has enjoyed quite the few months for the Bluebirds, scoring in the South Wales derby after a string of impressive cameos for Erol Bulut.
He had a difficult campaign last term, failing to nail down a starting spot while on loan with York City, but now back at Cardiff City Stadium he has really kicked on this term. WalesOnline reported last month that the the Bluebirds were close to agreeing a new deal with the 21-year-old and that has now come to pass.
He has signed a three-year contract extension, which will keep him in the Welsh capital until 2027.
“I'm buzzing," he said. "It's a good feeling to be here for many more years and to continue what I've been doing. It's a massive club. I knew that when I signed here originally. To then get an extension is a delight.
Erol Bulut:
"He [Bulut] has been a massive part. He's given me plenty of opportunities this season to show what I can do. He could have easily put me back out on loan or not played me, but he did, and has put trust in me. I'm forever grateful to him and to sign a contract while he's here is a big thing."
On his goal in the derby, Tanner added: "It ranks at the top, definitely. That feeling was unbelievable. The roar from the fans, it was quite something. It was massive for me, but it was also massive for the fans. It was unbelievable and for the club as well. We don't ever want to lose to anyone."
