Colwill not at the level I want:

Sat Oct 07, 2023 5:11 pm

Cardiff City manager Erol Bulut:

“At the moment Rubin is not at the level I want.”

"The first 35 minutes were good and what we expected and how we wanted to play. But I don't know what happened after we scored the goal. My team totally changed. I don't know the reason.

"Too nervous, too stressed, too many individual mistakes. We all have to work good to get all the points. Today we didn't work all good. In the end we are lucky to get one point.

"If you see these 11 games, if you ask if I am satisfied, yes I am, but not with what we showed today, not with this performance. This I don't want.

"Even if we lose points, we have to show fighting spirit and we didn't show it after 35 minutes. This I don't like."

Totally agree with him.

And me. Too sluggish, and doesn’t look 100% fit.

We are just tossing around with the lads career, he needs to go out on loan and just play and learn the game, not 5 min here and there

But he is too good to go out on loan according to Erol.

Needs ruthless management. He's old enough and been around the first team squad for long enough.

Its batshit crazy, I still don't know if Colwill is a lower league terror or genuine championship.

If he just can't do the physical stuff required of a championship team we need to sell him to a lower-league club and let others cover for what he can't do.
If Whitts had pace he'd only have been to Cardiff for cup finals in the millennium, but he never and we got him and had to hide what he couldn't do. But we just have never seen if Colwill can be effective as he is never match fit enough because no manager trusts him.

He needs to go christams to a L1 club and have to play

I saw him plat at Birmingham, Caraboa cup, and he ran the show. Since then he has not had the chance to do anything.

I'm leaning on sending him out on loan come January as he is not getting a real chance here.

Agree send him on loan or play him a run of games and give a chance

Put Ruben up front , got to be better than Ugbo . What a waste of space - he got a 7 for his performance in wol. Must have watched a different game to me .

Bulut is spot on.

Got to trust the manager he sees him every day in training

Maybe his strength or fitness isn’t up to 90 minutes at the moment which is what he has got to work on..but even so I’m still not quite sure why he’s not getting 20 minutes cameos in his preferred 10 position

And to rub salt into the wound sawyers gets on before colwill
bulut said he can push off before the season started and to fund a club how does rubin feel about that

Re: Colwill not at the level I want:

He seems to have more skill than most of the team , he can change a game with his touch , I think he should be playing , but manager knows best ,
And no way should sawyers have come on instead of colwill but manager knows best .
Good times January when bulut can get his own players hopefully

Do you something, maybe the manager doesn't know best! It says a lot to play Sawyers ahead of a gifted young lad like Colwill.

We had a midfield today who were all too similar in style - not enough of a spark of difference, no dynamism, no front foot football, no movement off the ball. Maybe Colwill would've brought that but we don't know.

Today, we didn't look like we wanted to win the match and I know that's a horrible thing to say.

He made comments like this about Tanner right before he slammed the ball into the Jacks’ net.

Fingers crossed it has the same affect.

Nice and honest assessment.

Sawyers, broke up adangerous attack up in the edge of our box. We could have, easily have lost.
To quote Dave, Jones if you cant win don't lose.
Ruben needs, to take a page out of Tanners book. Roll his socks down and get stuck in. Otherwise come the January window he will be farther down the pecking order.
Hopefully the break will help get Robinson and Bowler upto full fitness.

I feel colwill his slowly having his soul destroyed...he gets teased most games with the odd run down the touchline and maybe 10 minutes here and there..I believe he needs a run in the team..see if he gets up to speed..then decide if he's good enough I'm sure another club will gladly have him on the cheap and will probably manage him better..

That's one way of looking at it.
The other is that for whatever reason, he's not fit enough to play the way that EB wants him to. As has been said above, take a leaf out of Tanner's book, work hard, track and tackle back.
