The poster Mr Ducie asked me this question
whilst the home support is steady , following the recent liaison , what’s been suggested in respect of improving home support ( considering it’s no longer just about finances ).
Also the same question in respect of away support which has gone down significantly?PAUL CORKY SLO CCFC:
There was a meeting with Mehmet Dalman and the head of departments ahead of the game Saturday about this very subject and I am waiting to hear ,the outcome but they are looking at this seriously, I would imagine some deals would be on offer to encourage fans but no doubt the club will then get feedback or complaints from Season ticket holders.
Its not easy unless we are winning every game and at top of league or in the Premier league. So what can we do? The CCSC suggested that we open the club more on non matchdays, make sure the shop is open, maybe later until 8 pm when fans are home from work. Maybe open a cafe that fans can visit at the stadium, get the Museum finished and open, generally make the stadium more accessible to visitors /fans on non match days.
I think we have the pricing right at our ground but please reply with any ideas you have that might increase home attendances.
As for away we really have had it tough in the first 5 games. Ipswich, Leeds, Sunderland Middlesboro , Blackburn , only Leicester and Birmingham have been less than 4 hours away...I am sure our away support will pick up , its very expensive to do an away game and fair play to those that do attend, some never miss a game.

Corky, our ticket home prices are more than fair. It’s our fans they seem to cherry pick their games and we’ve got worse.
Away it is our clubs problem, so hard to get tickets and ticket office not open enough.

Why are you not giving schools all over South Wales free tickets if they bring their parents, the red seats perfect, they are doing nothing. thousands every home game should go out.

I’ve been saying this for ages mate. Bums on seats, secondary spending plus we may get a few fans hooked.

Pick a local school for each match and give those who what to come a child’s ticket and an adult ticket and make it a big event for the school. We may get some long term supporters out of it. As mentioned put them in the red seats and make it special

I promise to take all ideas back...thank you

Away fans definitely need to be moved away from the family stand or the family stand moved, whether it’s away fans up into the red seats or as mentioned swap them with the Canton.
Stewards have got to stop being so strict throughout the stadium, there’s so much they could let slide which is not harming anybody instead of acting like the gestapo.
Renaming the family stand the Peter Whittingham stand is a fantastic idea but would need to be run past his family and the PW7 foundation.
As for the free tickets to schools and football clubs etc need to look at youth clubs too and get local council SS involved and offer them tickets for kids in care, we’re a fantastic club with great community dealings but the community needs to be spread further than Cardiff and further than just schools and football clubs. Also with schools look at all schools not just primary/juniors, look at comps and colleges. Most colleges have a football team, Bridgend have Pezza’s school at Pencoed and they also entertain Little Kickers (one of the sponsors mentioned during the Rotherham game).
Need to be able to have easier access to getting tickets, match days the queue for tickets at the ticket office is ridiculous, they should be able to sell tickets in the cabin where you collect them. Not everybody has internet and rely on phone/turning up and buying on the day.
Same with vendors in the concourse, they’ve gone cashless this year, there’s still a lot of people turning up with cash, especially youngsters in the family stand so they need to go back to taking cash and card. Need extra vendors in the family stand too such as the coffee cart in the Ninian, the powder crap is awful lol

Maybe offer group game ticket purchase with an incentive of cheaper tickets when bought in groups of 2 or 3 games

The school thing is a good idea and the kids for a quid is also good. However, neither of these would generate much more income
The club’s pricing policy is more than fair and very competitive
The only way we will get bigger crowds is by having a winning team playing big matches. The Derby games are both going to be very well attended as are Leeds, Leicester etc
Unfortunately 20,000 is about our limit for “normal” games at present

As been mentioned give free tickets to the schools, and colleges also to charitable organisations fill the red seats looks good also will increase the atmosphere
Mon Oct 09, 2023 5:17 pm
Lower ticket prices, football is still too exspensive. Allow fans to leave the stadium for food at half time. Or are the club afraid of competition?
Most importantly, Move the Canton Stand to either the ninian 117/116 or behind the goal near away fans.

The family stand and Canton Stand won't be swapped, not while there's a certain person at the club that there is now.
So people can ask for that until they're blue in the face, it just won't happen.
I understand why people want the main vocal part of our fans closer to the away end, and at times I agree with it.
I also can see why it won't happen.
There's an argument that it would increase the atmosphere. But the Swansea game proved there can be a brilliant atmosphere with the current stadium plan.
However, it would also increase police/steward costs and is no guarantee that it would improve the atmosphere. I've been to stadiums where we've been far away from the main home vocal support, but there's been a good atmosphere. I've also been to stadiums where we've been close to the vocal home support and it's been very quiet.
But like I say, it's academical because it will not happen for the foreseeable future.

No different to your '
cherry-picking' of posts (of which this is another example), NegativeNinian27...
The actual topic is age-old and can only be resolved with the will of the '
floaters' and the (currently) laudible efforts to improve the state, atmosphere and results of the club itself...
Mehmet Dalman himself has identified the most recent issue, i.e. the recent malaise at the club caused not solely by themselves but by the mix of '
issues' that have plagued the club and driven many to say '
what's the point?'
For me and many others I know, it's a life-time of support; but for others, the club is no longer as important in their lives as their singing might suggest...
Times have changed and today's society want immediate success and no longer have the patience to enjoy the ride to the top, if it ever comes again...
Currently, after some recent positivity behind the scenes and the installation of a '
proper' manager, Mehmet Dalman (and by default Vincent Tan) are trying to change things in the positive...
As our positiin improves, so will the crowds..

Go over his head and lobby Choo or Dalman. Moving the Canton stand seems very popular

Advertising!!! If you walk round Liverpool you know if you are in Everton or Liverpool territory with all the banners/posters on streetlamps everywhere. Walk round cardiff city centre or even a few yards from the ground there is nothing to advertise cardiff city!!! It should be everywhere.
Fan zones in the car park with reasonable priced alcohol and burger vans etc. We have no pub near the ground dedicated to home fans other than the Sand Martin where you have to buy food to get a drink and is open to all fans. It's all about the build up.
Overpriced food and drink in the ground. The food is crap. £10 for an Arron Ramsey burger that is the same as last seasons burger. Basic food and crap alcohol.
Players visiting local schools and inspiring the kids. Not just in cardiff but the huge catchment area we have.
Better transport links although our of our control.
Move the away fans near canton and stop the 2000 seat gap between us and them!! It will improve the atmosphere massively and I believe attract more fans on the long run.
A lot of the stewards are jobsworths and for too many seasons now we make it nice and cosy for away fans so we can win a nice little award for best away day experience. f**k that. Make it a shit day out for them. We just seem like a massive pushover in so many respects and away fans and teams probably love coming here...although we have slowly turned back into a fortress again in footballing terms.

Would swapping the family and Canton stands bring in more fans? I doubt it. That's about trying to improve the experience for existing attendees. Don't think the Family is big enough either to accommodate the whole of the Canton.
The best way to increase attendances is two-fold . Get tickets out to schools. Secondly, a sustained period in the Premier league. That needs Tan to invest for the future, not continue cost cutting. It'll be interesting to see what the next transfer window brings in that respect.

Sort the lager out! Be a pioneering club who actually considers the taste of the over priced piss they sell. How football clubs get away with this is beggars belief.
Anyone ever had a nice lager in the CCS?
Also, I may be on my own or in the minority, but our chant choices/selection has gone awful. Again, could the club pioneer some way to get the atmosphere up?
Also... ask the season ticket holders. Ask your customers. E-mail poll, questionaire etc??
(Nice to see this happening, to add)
Mon Oct 09, 2023 6:08 pm
Can we ask why they are not offering the flexi ticket package anymore?
Also the food and drink prices in the ground are ridiculous
Mon Oct 09, 2023 6:32 pm
Undoubtedly the biggest draw for fans is sustained involvement in the premier league which requires serious investment. They might be mostly glory supporters but it's still bums on seats
Mon Oct 09, 2023 6:34 pm
We are never ever going to swap stands....The stadium has won awards for being akin to fort knox, can't see that ever changing and as Saturdays pitch invader shows, we still have more than our fair share of attention seekers.
Its a poor fan experience when you compare it to other grounds. If we have no control over prices in the concourse then invite local businesses space outside the Canton, different breweries, pubs and food outlets. Get the band outside under a marquee
The Ninians extension has not been fully utilized. It wouldn't take Borley long to move the turnstiles from their original position to the gaps under the red stand, need to add a few more while they are at it, then we'd have so much more space in the Ninian concourse.
Also why can't we use the nearest turnstile for the Canton /Ninian
WAG,TFW or CCC need to look at Grangetown station, its shit and unsafe
And while i am at it, why not keep a bar open and slap sky sports on for the 17:30 game
