Look at this grinning tosser
Welsh Government announces spending cuts in emergency budget statement
Inflation is forcing the Welsh Government into making unprecedented mid-year changes to its spending plans
The Welsh Government's finance minister has today taken the unprecedented step of amending its budget partway through the financial year. Rebecca Evans has told the Senedd all departments except health and climate change have had to provide savings.
In the summer, First Minister Mark Drakeford said his government had a £900m gap in its budget and he had told every minister to find savings in their department. You can read his comments from August here. Those decisions have been ongoing and today is the first time the results will be made public. Overnight, the Welsh Government said public services, NHS and transport were all safe and it said it had "protected people from the worst of the financial crisis".
The Welsh Government has found money via taking £100m extra from reserves; an expectation there will be £150m in Barnett consequentials as a result of decisions taken in England, a proposed transfer of £147m from capital to revenue budgets, if the UK Treasury allows; and cuts within departments.
Schools budgets have however been hit with a £40m cut to its capital spending budget and there are cuts to all departments except for health and climate change. Funding for health has had to go up £425m because of the huge pressures health boards are facing, Transport for Wales gets an extra £125m and the revenue support grant which funds councils has been protected, the Senedd has been told.

Your dead right "could not organise a piss up in a brewery". even worse than that - no words describe it.
Slashing all budgets except health and "Green" agenda. Health is more than failing in Wales (a lot worse than any other UK nation).
My 82 year old neighbor had a suspected stroke the day before yesterday - waited 9 YES 9 hours for an ambulance to turn up then to Aberystwyth A&E waited another 2 hours in a wheelchair.
IT"S BEYOND BROKEN.

It was a retorical question as I think the starting costs were £32M + who knows what the final costs will be.

It makes my blood boil ,the amount of money they mismanaged, the 20mph could have paid the school budget, how much wasted on Cardiff airport, the M4 relief road consultation over £100 million, don't worry they will blame Brexit and Westminster for their mismanagement and the same old usual will believe them as always

Wouldn't allow the prick to have a bank account.

A brainless electorate deserve this oxygen thief.
Ban takeaway food outlets I would. Only serves fat people and litter collectors.
Tue Oct 17, 2023 7:16 pm
And all he wants to do is eradicate dissenting voices.
Get rid of the Tories. Ban GB news.
I don't watch GB news. I barely watch any TV. But banning a news outlet is a slippery slope regardless of if you agree with them or not. Their audience has every right to be informed of the goings on in Cardiff bay.
Wales and the UK have a lot of left leaning parties..but only one or maybe 2 centre right/right leaning parties.
How dare he seek to eradicate representation for a sizeable chunk of society. Not all conservative voters are "Tories" and not all agree with what they do. But maybe it's all they have to vote for given they aren't left leaning. Plus. Leaning right isn't making someone the devil incarnate. Take party politics out of it and it's basically a preference for lower taxes and smaller state involvement. That doesn't make someone evil.
What we need is more opposition and sensible opposition scrutiny and alternatives to make me drakeford see that no everyone wants what he is selling and maybe he may need to take suggestions on board. Unfortunately we don't presently have that but it's not a reasons to wipe it out

Vote reform...we really need to change from the status quo..this lot of clowns need a bloody nose..

Vapes should be prescription only, Mark Drakeford says -
Vapes should only be available on prescription for people quitting smoking, Mark Drakeford has said.
The first minister said he was "attracted" to Australia's policy of restricting the sale of vapes to pharmacies.
He has backed UK government plans that could see a ban on disposable vapes.
Medical experts had "significant differences" of opinion over whether they helped people quit tobacco, he added.
Mr Drakeford said: "In Australia for example the only way you can get an e-cigarette is by prescription. You can't buy them in shops.
"Only through a medical prescription as part of a supervised attempt to give up smoking are they available.
"And do you know, I would be attracted to that idea myself."

This I would be in favour of.
Standing at bus stop yesterday, 3 girls and 2 boys around 12/13 years old, all vaping.
Like most young people, pushing the boundaries and going against things are part of growing up and learning about the world, (like a quick puff behind the bike shed as used to be). But to see so so many youngsters doing this - it is becoming an epidemic among the young with unknown effects.
Yes, maybe better for adult smokers but even most adult smokers are still puffing 4 or 5 years after moving to these vapes when they are marketed as a way of giving up.
Just look around at the amount of VAPE shops opening in most towns , villages, etc, so there is a "supply and demand" way for businesses to make money out of this.
For once I agree with the idiot of a first Minister.
(I'm a part time cigar smoker)

I was a smoker from a young age, early teens and I'm sure if vapes were around then I would have vaped instead.
Who's to say the ones who are vaping now wouldn't just have started smoking cigarettes ?

Drove around Cardiff yesterday for the first time in a few weeks, drivers in the majority totally ignoring the 20mph.
Be interesting to see when the 20mph will be enforced.
Plenty of signs also need to be replaced due to vandalism as well.

I have said it before until the clowns in the valleys stop voting Labour (because mummy and daddy did)we will always have idiots running our affairs in Wales.

Shocking 30m for 20mph, 80m to run the Senydd and we're out of cash... add Cardiff Airport and M4 consultancy it is a total disgrace. What good has the Senydd done in 25 years... Not one thing!!!!!!!!!!!

And some numpties want an independent Wales..... based on a dislike of the English football and Rugby teams not on how affordable that would be....
Tax - Expenses = What's left
Do you honestly think that we could raise enough tax from our employment base to pay for everything we need..... Nope not a chance.

Marky1927, tried to use link and sign but link just takes you to a search window, please could you either post the entire link for this specific petition OR let us know the exact wording of the petition so we can search for it.
I tried "abolish devolution" but nothing matched. I also tried "stop devolution" but no match.
Thanks mate and you are totally correct as to why so many vote for Labour , either because my family always have or because Labour are for working people - a lot of sheep around

I’m so sick of our politicians (at a Welsh and British level) that I no longer see any point voting. Drakeford is an ideological crank but I don’t have any faith in opposition parties either.

That referendum would lose, and rightly so.
It's almost as bad as those crazy people who want Welsh independence which has zero chance of winning in a referendum.

Mark Drakeford's popularity drops sharply after new 20mph limit, new poll shows
He has really taken a hit in the last couple of months -
A new poll suggests that the popularity of Wales' First Minister Mark Drakeford with the public has dropped sharply since the 20mph limit came in. The new default speed limit was introduced last month and has proven unpopular with most people in Wales according to polling.
A poll by Redfield & Wilton Strategies asked a range of questions about Welsh politics. Mr Drakeford, who has enjoyed relatively high approval ratings since the start of the pandemic in 2020, received a net approval rating of -15% this month, down 11 points from his previous rating in August.
The poll found that 30% (-3) of voters approve of his overall job performance as First Minister of Wales against 45% (+8) who disapprove. Among other party leaders in the Senedd, Conservatives leader Andrew RT Davies holds a net approval rating of -9% (+6), while Rhun ap Iorwerth, the leader of Plaid Cymru, holds a net approval rating of -1% (-2).
In addition, the Welsh Conservatives leader now leads Mr Drakeford by one point when Welsh voters were asked who would be a better First Minister for Wales (34% to 33%, with a further 33% of voters undecided).

Agree with the ban on single use plastics.. but that’s one good thing in 24 years, a hideous track record.
If the Welsh Secretary were to stand the Tories may stand a chance. But our politicians are a shower of shit generally.
